Solid game. Those bats are fast as heck

I liked the lighting effects, and some of the blue blocks that needed destroying were tricky in a fun way. The bats seem very very hard to dodge, as well as trying to get past the lizard things.

Great game!

I did not always know where I am going, but I always had a path I could take, great way to keep the pace.

I was often hit by the animals, but since it just made my money go away, and did not made me start all over again it was not frustrating.

Tiny nitpick: The music (especially the beginning) was too loud.

Cool game. The bats at the end are way too aggressive haha

Nice job! I got 857. I noticed that the camera tended to be centered behind the player's direction of motion, which made it harder to see threats ahead - it would make more sense to have it centered in front of the player.

Final score was 800 ish! You did a good job of creating a long sprawling level, it felt like I was cave exploring. I wasn't sure if there was actual health for the player as I never seemed to die? Good job though, lots of fun!

@JoeDev Thanks for playing! There isn't health for the player, you just lose some coins when you get hit. We were considering having health along with checkpoints but ran out of time. Kind of glad we went this way in the end because some of the enemies are kind of impossible to dodge (talking about you bats lol)

@jeremia Thanks for playing and for your feedback! We considered having a tiny bit of global lighting but decided to just have a torch. If we were to work on this in the future, we might put some global lighting, and maybe even a flashlight or something. Also probably move the camera a bit forward like someone else suggested.

Also yeah the menu music was kinda last minute and I agree it's too loud.

@bmacintosh Thanks for playing and your feedback! I like the idea of moving the camera in front of the player, I might try that out in other projects in the future.

@noam-zeise Yeah if I were to do this again I would probably spend more time fine-tuning the enemies. They're one of the rougher parts for sure. Thank you for your feedback and for playing!!

@david-horning Bats go brrr. Thanks for playing! (And yeah enemy balance is 100% something I'm gonna work on improving for future games)

Not a bad little platformer, I get the impression you may have been inspired by Mario haha. It definitely felt satisfying to collect coins, the art looked nice and it was quite atmospheric. I would say the area of vision could be a little bigger, or fade more gradually into darkness so that you are able to see obstacles and enemies and don't just have to jump blindly down holes, although that does add a special kind of atmosphere in itself. I took damage a few times but was a little confused until I read the comments if I was losing health or not. I also wasn't sure which was I was supposed to be going but I guess that was intentional, as all paths lead to the bottom. But yeah it was a good achievement to complete that game in a weekend, well done!
