Diving Heroes by Guilb

Swim as far as you can and maybe you may get to the bottom. COOP or SOLO (You can play with two controllers, but the web version is only single player)
Dive, cooperate, grapple gather, upgrade and repeat!
CONTROLS
MOVEMENT (Left Analog Stick)
W > Up
A > Left
D > Right
S > Down
ACTIONS
Mouse (Right Analog Stick) - Aim
Left Click (R2/RT) > Grapple objects and enemies.
Right Click (L2/LT) > Grapple your buddy and throw him deeper into the sea.
TUTORIAL
• Grapple your friend and send him deeper! Watch for enemies as they may hurt you on the way down (your fast way to dive) Note: you can't grapple upwards
you can play solo or coop with controllers

• These are your enemies (only medium to high lvl grapple can throw them)

• These are items that you can throw at them (some may be heavy so a low lvl grapple can't pull them)

• Throw items on enemies do defeat them

• As you defeat enemies resources may drop. Hold "F" to go up and upgrade your equipment
Have fun and dive deep!

also, rather than making a game on a low resolution, then upscaling it, try making in high res, then downscale
Great job!
The audio was great too, but a little bit repetitive at the end.
For the gameplay itself, I found difficult to undertand what could hurt the guy and what was collectible. Also I think there was too much collectibles objects overall. A real tutorial would have been great to really help us take control of the game :)
UI is pretty small on 4K display. Game needs more clarification on how to play or fixes:
1. You see few objects below moving down. Expectation: you can see far enough to plan your actions.
2. Buddy falls down and gets a lot of damage than you grapple him. Expectation: buddy stops right after grappling.
3. Buddy grappling doesn't work sometimes. Expectation: grappling work every time or something indicates grappling limit.
Good job!
I really missed knowing in advance what item I would get when I break a specific object.
But it's a good game :D
I didn't quite get, why I would want to throw my buddy around, but I guess it would be a fun multiplayer concept.
Is it right though that only a few different items were dropped? I could buy the 1st suit and grapple update quite quickly, but didn't get once, what I needed for any other upgrades. I had over 300 fish bones but not 1 of the drops for other upgrades - a bit infuriating :fish:
That aside i really enjoyed playing it.
Довольно сложная игра, и у меня не было второго человека, к сожалению. Но все равно спасибо ^_^

Unfortunatelly we finnished the game just in time to post it so it may be missing tutorials and some minor fixes.
@truth-defined
Yeah we didn't managed to test it on different resolutions. But as @klaaswag said we'll try to work from high to low res on our next game. By the way, thanks for the tip!

The idea is that the fish and sea urchin are enemies (they cause damage when you touch them). You can kill them by throwing objects at them. As you progress the grapling hook will be able to throw fish as well.
@lootgrounds
We designed the game for coop so you could go deeper faster by grapling your buddy and send him towards the bottom.
@iumue @joshuc
Yeah, we noticed it too late. The second tier resources aren't dropping, we plan to fix it
Maybe have an option to disable coop at the beginning so that the camera can stay centered on where the player is instead of both players?
Such cute art though. Makes me want to collect things by smashing them into each other!
Very well done, you've made a great job. Not only is the art great, but the grappling mechanic is really clever once you fully understand it ^^
Keep it up ! :)
Mood was great, the darkening sea and the music and the flow was very nice and relaxing that it took me to kind of trance.
The friend grappling was a bit too powerful when you upgraded it, as it took you all the way to harmful stuff, so I ended up dying sometimes without being able to do anything. I don't know if it could be controlled to take smaller leaps at the top.
Anyways, very nice and polished game overall! I enjoyed the credits "screen" idea :sunglasses:
The partner hook often goes too far resulting in death. There would ideally be a way to control the descent.
The upgrade progression needs a bit of balancing. One time, early on, the seaweed stopped spawning and I didn't have an upgraded grapple so I had to restart the game. The game could do with rewarding sounds when objects collide. Overall an awesome game.
