I loved the concept, it could get quite addicting.
The artwork is wonderful, the game was really enjoyable.
Found the city at 1200depth. :)
What might be interesting would be to display some sort of strength value for enemies to maybe give you more of an indication if you should fight it or not.
- since i don't now what's behind the card, that choice doesn't matter nor interesting. I always choose the middle one. I would rather to keep them open and make the choice more meaningful/strategic
- either there is a few type of card or I didn't progress much (I did 515). I would like to see different cards as much as possible in this type of game
- I would hardly suggest you to play this one if you haven't play it yet: https://twotinydice.itch.io/forward looks very similar as concept, there are tons of inspiration here as well
-[SPOILER] the card that "you found atlantis" feels so good, they always attacked me though. It seems like there is puzzle there (or I was unlucky 3 times)
ur game is so satisfying

in french I'd say "ton jeu il m'a fait du bien frère" :P ^^#
really really enjoyed it
i really wish u could just scroll that credits screen tho :-D
relive all ur choices for a minute
honestly i was not convinced when i realized it was just a card game
but it works really well!
I enjoyed the heck out of this playsession!
Thanks dude - great work can't wait to see what you'll cook up next time <3 :grinning:
So I really like your game and I'm streaming Ludum Dare 48 games on saturday with my friend Teauorent on his Twitch channel - https://www.twitch.tv/teauorent - Saturday May 1st 4PM CET

we're ready to present 6 out of the 5 games we planned ^^# the games' makers e-mailed us anecdotes and sneak peeks of their creative processes (photos, screenshots, beta/WIP asset renders, mood boards, concept Art, etc.) so we can present those alongside and illustrate their LD48 adventure to our audience
Really not sure your game could be featured also 'cause we can't just stream on for 3+ hours if there's too much content ^^# BUT if you'd like to do that to we'd love to feature your game - there's the e-mail I mentioned earlier --> TeamChooChoo.GameJams@gmail.com [we will confirm receiving your e-mail(s) upon reception]
The show will be in french but I'm bilingual so you can totally submit in english, we'll take care of the rest
Have a great day, I hope to hear from you soon - thanks for that great moment I spent testing your little nugget of a game, and see you in the chat on saturday I hope
Good luck with the stream!
Great game. Simple, but efficient.
Simple and efficient, could be extended for a full gameplay and a full game !
Really good job I enjoyed it !!
Thank you for your game!
But seriously this was entertaining and a really great use of the theme. Well done!
Very well done!
So it's mostly clicky-clicky with nice art and story, but still I enjoyed it :)
My only complaint is, with the rest of the game running smooth, result action of a dialog should have been smoother, as in disappear right after a click rather than have a forced delay. That would help keep up with the frantic pace one may get into while uncovering cards.
Also sound effects would be nice (idk, splash water or something) and music was a little bit annoying. It's just the same instrument jumping at you and sometimes percussion. I'm not sure but it sounds to me that maybe it was made in bosca ceoil. Unless you really know what you're doing making good sounding music in that repetitive app is hard.
Another issue were the default unity buttons and text. I hope you used tmpro, but it's a lot simpler to make simple text or make the squares blocky (remove the default unity texture). Maybe it isn't like this now, but unity was always the "asset flip maker" and things like the early made with unity screens were really bad for your game, because it was like telling somebody "this game is bad". The default unity UI textures are outdated and quite ugly. Also they get used a lot still and are low res. As I see you can draw. That's great. Draw a square with rounded corners and replace it. Also a different font would be nice. Just look up a font on google fonts or dafont, check if they don't want money (most of the time they don't) and download it.
I don't think the tutorial was quite necessary. I just couldn't understand the interface that well at first. But that full screen, unformatted arial doesn't give an appealing look.
Also change the itch page. Change colors, and write a better description. Just go on about anything and make it works.
This was quite a long review, hope it helped, unless you just kinda put the game out and left it there.
The music can be repetitive with several minutes of play.
Noce work
@kr4ft3r yes, the transitions could be way smoother, I just realized that. Thanks for your feedback!
@franciszek-pyrc thanks for your feedback! most of the things you said were left out of scope sadly, but we'll keep them in mind. BTW, I want to play your game too but don't have any Windows at the moment, hope to do it soon!
Thanks everyone for playing it!
And thanks everybody for playing, rating and commenting it!
There's also a little lag time when we have to wait for some of the event screens to go away, that was kind of annoying as I just wanted to keep clicky clicky clicking!
I didn't understand how to enter Atlantis, I must have been attacked over a dozen times. So I had to read the comments to see I needed to purchase the mystery item. I guess that's my fault, but in my defense, it's the last card on the menu, and costs the most, so I usually just bought oxygen or a flashlight.
The artwork is good. There is an appropriate amount of juice, particles and squishy cards. I think there is some potential to be a little more "extravagant" with the visuals. The font is a little boring (I think it's the default unity font?), and the blue background is kind of bland.
Sorry to say, the music was not enjoyable, so I'm glad there was a mute button. I think sound effects would be nice.
Overall this is a very good entry, and fun game to play through a few times. Good job!
Honestly I don't have any feedback because the game is really good. Maybe expand it, new cards, options for defending and more mistery items.
Awesome game! Really fun and I love the artstyle.

I looooooove the graphics and the idea of the game, and I think it matches the theme perfectly
I would suggest to modify a little the music, I had to turn it off because it is super repetitive. And I would also add some more info when fighting an enemy, as I didn't know if it was a game of probabilities every time, or if each animal did a different amount of damage (it turns out they do xD).
However, really nice game!!! :clap_tone1: :clap_tone1: :clap_tone1:
Y un toque genial poder jugar en castellano :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: seguid con el buen trabajo!!! :trophy:
Thank you all for the great feedback and your nice comments
