Penguins can't fly by Attala

A penguin wants to get to the bottom of a deep hole in the ice. Only problem is that penguins can't fly so you have to help him get deeper and deeper.

Remember to use the UP arrow key or W key a lot. Use it to control your fall. Fall as slowly as you can, but watch your energy meter :)

The windows version both performs and looks better than the WebGL version. Please try the windows version if you are able to. Thank you

Really cool art and physics! The music had a really fun tempo and the sound effects are hilarious. I felt like I got knocked out a little too easily but I might just be bad.

I think this is the first game that I actually clicked restart a bunch of times :D Great learning curve, sounds are top notch.

Really fun game ! Great concept, great audio and a very addicting experience overall (I forgot how many times I have restarted the game, but I am sure it was way more than once).

Fun but dificult. It feels like I get knocked out too easily and then rarely can I recover. Perhaps a bit more bounce or slide on the penguin would make the knockouts not feel so game ending?

Fun game to play, but I feel like you hit the ledges too easily, and the controls are a bit floppy. I like the 3D look of it though, and the sound effects are funny! Nice job

Very cool game, I especially enjoys the sfx :laughing: It was tough at first and got me to keep playing and get better, I enjoyed that a lot about it.

I agree with a couple other comments, a bit difficult. I also didn't immediately understand why I was losing. I love that he does little flips as his way down. The animation/art/mood are amazing. The controls were easy to pickup and play. It also worked well for me on WebGL :)

Easy to play but hard to master... hehe :smirk:
Achieving that balance usually takes a lot of time and playtesting. Congrats on making it happen in a compo submission!

This game made me smile, and what more do yo want form a game? The controls could perhaps have been better, but I am not sure it would have made the game more fun to play. Overall a good jam game. Well done.

Yeti Sports vibe! my only complaint with this was the flap mechanic buggged on occastion the fact this was made from nothing in 48 hours is humbling as hell.

This game broke me mentally...and I think that's what I liked about it? I could definitely feel myself getting better the more I played, but I'm still a far cry from some OTHER high score chasers out there... >.>

Cool game. I really like that the penguin spins around as he is hit. I would prefer if the player character was higher up on the screen, giving more time to react to oncoming obstacles. Screen rendered above the player does not really serve any purpose.

Fun, but tough. I found the amount of inertia the penguin had to be very challenging to manage. Excellent looking game! I played the webgl version and thought it looked great.

There are so many dangers to account for at the same time but I really liked it after I had got the gist of it. Although I still think the mobs with a ranged attack might be a bit overkill. It's impressive how you managed to make full and good-looking 3D graphics in a compo. It could pass as a full game from the shareware era. And I love you for the voice acting. The graphics are exceptional, for a compo game! Also the animations and sound effects! I can see a lot of effort being put into it.

The difficulty is veeeeeeery high! :D I wasn't able to avoid even the first platforms :D I would suggest to cap the speed at the beginning or make the controls less floaty.

But still, for a compo entry, definitely above an average.

Well if that isn't the cutest unconscious penguin I ever did see. This is one of those simple concept that's really hard to master. Kinda like a flappy bird. The cute graphics really fit and the audio was good too. Not really got anything negative to say. It's executed really well.
