Space GELD by ElMikosch

made by ElMikosch for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

Made by Tobias, Stefan and Mathias

You're deeply indebted to the space federation's semi-legal loanshark branch. Fly out into space to collect resources and pay back your debt or use them to upgrade your ship, enraging the federation's paramilitary fighters - your choice. Deeper into Space, Deeper into Debt, Deeper into trouble.

Take care not to spend too much fuel while mining. Getting towed will cost you all your resources!

Amazing Game! The graphics were epic and it was very optimized, especially for the webGL version.

This was really fun. Might take a bit to learn to fly this craft well, but the whole visual aesthetic made me smile. For a game jam game, shockingly close to feeling like I'm flying around an asteroid field. Awesome!

Really beautiful graphics, space felt really expansive! Tight controls as well. I liked the upgrade system and the interpretation of the theme. I did find the graphics to be pretty processor intensive in the web version though.

Simple and sweet game. Could have changed the enemy craft color texture in to more threatening, at first I thought a friendly craft is approaching :D. VR potential game. All the best guys.

I'm digging it. Any space sim is my jam, and this is definitely a good one. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting asteroids and watching them blow up, to the detriment of other gameplay. I can see something great coming out of this.

Loved the mood of this game, the BGM and the sound effect of explosions. Definitively recommend to play with earphones !
The feeling of the command was great, which is often difficult to adjust for this kind of game. Kudos!
Wishing you the best for your future creations!

It was very nice flying around taking in the scenery and blowing up asteroids until the space police attacked.
I'm not sure if I was missing something but I couldn't seem to get many resources? I think I do occasionally see something fly towards my ship and a number go up but I can't reliably spot them.

I really enjoyed to destroy the asteroids :D The graphism are really cool and the handling of the spaceship was really confortable.

felt like a space game for sure, nice graphics. I wasn't really sold on the theme as much but still cool.

Cool game. Only thing it's missing for me, is some sound or visual feedback, when my ship was hit.

Very nice. Flying around feels super smooth. I struggled to find any resources though.
Great explosions, but missiles exploding a mile away should be more attenuated. I kept thinking I was taking damage.
The html5 build runs beautifully until you blow up an asteroid, then it is 5fps until it fades. Also everything had a green tinge there which made the enemies much easier to see than in the windows build.
A fire button on the keyboard would have been nice, since you don't use the mouse for flying. Then I could have bound my controller to it.

It was a little unclear how to get resources, but it seems like they randomly drop from asteroids, aiming your missiles was a bit tough, and the game started lagging as soon as you started destroying asteroids. All that said, this was an ambitious project for ludum dare, and I think you pulled it off! There's a good core loop of gathering resources/fighting ships and an actual end goal, no matter how impossible it feels to achieve at times (damn loan sharks).

Well done!
