Incredibly realistic eel physics. Move your mouse cursor to smack against the buttons to move around the room in your human suit.

You're done something amazing here. You have elegantly described my brain at social gatherings in ways I've failed to explain in words. The eel physics were hilarious! Honestly, a bit difficult to press those buttons, c'est la vie.

This is such a wild concept. However, I can't really review the gameplay because I was not able to get the eel to hit any of the buttons. It seems it kept on drifting towards the back of the room and very quickly got out of range of the buttons.

When you're a fake guy
but your suit goes awry
That's a Moray

When you're deep in the brine
But you're tied up like twine
That's a moray

You will fling, spring-aling and swing to push just one button.

but then you will fall, sideways out a wall and you'll get stuck forever.

(Brilliant concept, very funny. Had very serious trouble with the HTML5 version but in the windows download I could flail around quite happily)

The eel looks really nice, and him flopping is entertaining, but I cannot control the eel for a million bucks, is it scared of the red orb following my mouse? Good graphics but I wish I knew what happened when you press the buttons

As a person who is 100% not an Eel in a human suit I found this game to be slanderous propaganda against Eels everywhere. Eels are wondrous creatures who are fully capable of operating a human without having to flip flop like wet spaghetti everywhere. I won't lie and say it wasn't humorous to watch a fellow Eel flail and fail at its attempts to act as a human however I would ask that the next time you decide to make something like this you take a moment and ask yourself if there where an Eel inside you how would he feel about this. TL;DR 10/10

Had eel, eel/eel

was hard to play, I couldn't hit the buttons but it was funny as hell. Good work

I love this super weird thing. Gameplay was challenging; I think the WebGL physics were making it more difficult as noted by the developer. It got slightly easier when I full-screened the build. I couldn't play it as intended, but I still got the concept and had fun making the eel wiggle around. The eel looks very appropriately floppy and slippery. Great job!

like octodad, but not fun and twice as impossible to control

Hey y'all!

Thanks for the kind words! I've done a lot of jams before as an artist, but I've never programmed a whole game by myself before, so some jank is to be expected. I want to work on a fix in the next few days to get the physics-based buttons to work the way they're supposed to, so stay tuned.

I would really like to play this, but I couldn't, for the life of me, figure out how to move the eel around. It doesn't seem to follow the mouse at all, it's just doing random moves.

I liked the look of the eel and the idea, but I couldn't play well enough to push any buttons. The only categories that I can rate at this moment are graphics and innovation, can't tell about the rest. Sorry.

If you get around to fixing the controls, I will be happy to revisit this game, so please ping me if there's a new version available

Hehe, cool looking eel. As others mentioned, I could not get it to hit any of the button. Feel free to ping me once you have a fix for the controls. I am happy to adjust my rating.

Very much enjoyed the floppiness of it all, very realistic eel simulation lol!! Also had a bit of a hard time pushing the buttons, maybe adding in some wasd movement controls to move the whole eel could give it a little more control while staying just as flappy? Awesome job nonetheless! (Would also like to point out for no reason in particular that I am not an eel in a human suit, I am very much a human person, thanks)

I can't quite figure out what I'm doing, but this whole thing feels a bit too real. Maybe I am just an eel in a flesh suit. It sure feels like it sometimes. Good job stepping out of your comfort zone to do something you're not used to doing! By the by, I think the web version has the wrong size, or some such, since I don't think I can see all of the playing field. (I don't see the left button, and the screen is harshly cut off). I think the idea is wonderful and the wiggling is out of control (in a good way).

I really enjoyed it for something that I couldn't make much progress in :) The eel himself is very delightful, but I was also unable to press the buttons. Hard to review all aspects as a result, but the eel made my day better on his own. Nice work!

It was very very hard to control. But it looks very nice...
