Gameplay was fun! The course is also surprisingly long for a ludum dare game! My only complaint here was that crouching didn't seem to really do anything, besides maybe dodge under obstacles.
The theme is fun too. I was not expecting to see that first foot in the forest - I guess I should have expected it from the game's name!
Anyway, great entry!
Other than that - a very solid work. Great job!
Wonderful visuals and music make for a great ride all the way down. This is the first game I've played that made me go "wow...this in VR would be perfect!" but even without that, is a wonderful visual splendor!
So glad you implemented checkpoints, and quite a good number of them too!
A very minor crit would be the hitboxes on the collectables being a little bit bigger would be nice as I felt like sometimes I missed them and was quite close, but that's really the only thing I can think of that was room for improvement.
Great job everyone who worked on this, you did great!.
One thing that jumps out is a repeated:
> NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
> at CheckpointManager.Update () [0x0009f] in <88014c02b6f04333a615dd9dfcd87996>:0
But probably just a coincidence.
@marcmagus Thanks! Uh you could send it to gamedev@vaguelydamp.com that would be much appreciated.
For the first minute or two I wasn't really sure how this fit into the theme, but as the visuals became more and more trippy, I realised what I was going deeper into was some kind of drug induced psychosis! Really, really beautiful to play through.
Like others, I wasn't able to collect most of the collectables, and wasn't really sure what they were for - like whether they'd have any effect on the gameplay. Seems the crouch doesn't really do anything either... but no matter - like life, it's about the journey.
Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Here's a link to the VOD:

I'm curious how your team is divided since it had a lot of work done on the art side and the level design side. Is the majority of your team artists?
Very memorable experience and a great way to weave "ski" and "trip" together.
Once again, y'all knocked it out of the park with this one. Not only are the visuals and music top-notch, but the whole game as a package is very tight and cohesive. No idea how y'all managed to crank this out in a single weekend, but I'd be worried about whoever you owe your soul to to make it happen.
Pros:
- Whatever you're smoking, it's working
- Amazing level design
- Amazing trip graphics
- Great, subtle transition into madness
- Music is a nice touch
- I like skiing!
Cons:
- Movement is less fluid than I anticipated
- I can see parts of levels overlapping
- I felt like sometimes the hitbox of the world decided to go against me
The game is just an art to enjoy. Great work!
