Delitor by monninen

[raw]
made by monninen for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

Delitor is a fast-paced platformer where: You destroy everything you touch, and you get points by doing that. You have less room to move as you destroy stuff. Sooner or later you will fall down and down, under and under.

My only complaint is that you can control the player using left and right also A nd D, but you only jump pressing W, pressing the arrow up dont do nothing :p

@mockthebear We were going to add jumping with up arrow, but seems like we totally forgot to actually do that :D

Fun programmer art, interesting concept. the movement was a little to snappy for me but that's just subjective. I think if the platforms were flatter and had less places to get stuck it would feel smoother to play while maintaining the same fast pace.

I liked the game mechanic of blocks disappearing as you touch things

Wow, one of the most unusual ideas on a given topic) Very cool gameplay. If you continue to implement it, you can get a good platformer.

Having the world dissapear like this when you touch it is a really interesting idea. I would like to see more of this game, it could turn out to be a really cool platformer

the main mechanic is pretty solid, but I think you have to find a win condition for the player to make the game balanced for players that are not interested into just getting a high score

Pretty cool gameplay, it's very interesting and it fits the theme well. It would be interesting to develop the idea further.

There are many things that could be improved: the graphics are too basic, the music is extremely repetitive, the hitbox of the triangles is a bit too large, and there's no way to know when you're going to fall in the lava or not.

It took me some time to realize I could jump too. The arrows worked so I used that to move, but neither up nor space worked for jumping. I had to come back here to realize jumping was possible.

Nice game though.

I love how simple and challenging the game is at the same time. The music complements the gameplay, 'cause it encouraged me to reach the very top. Well done.![delitor.jpg](///raw/9da/b3/z/41a08.jpg)

Great job! Few minutes I couldn't understand how to play, but later I got it and had a lot of fun! Max score 118 ;)

Good concept, really liked it! Took me two or three runs to completely understand what the game can offer. Nice little game, good work :)

Great work! Liked the audio loop and funky colours. Keeping this simplistic style with allowing the player to go deeper and pick up different scoring item/methods to gain height could open up this idea further.

really cool mechanic but it would have been nice to see a bit more content in the game beyond just survival

I like the style, the blackout environment on colorful background looks cool. The secret area was a nice addition. Run animation was smooth and the the music was spooky. I like the idea, but i think it would be better as a type of infinite fall game rather than racking up points until you fall to the bottom.
Great job, thanks for the game!

Really interesting idea! I really loved your somewhat abstract parallax backgrounds too, they really added to the mood of this weird world that falls apart.

Interesting concept. Jumping has some bugs. This could be one of those games with a moral, maybe that was your intention.

The point I think is most interesting about this game is that there is a theoretical maximum score. That is somewhat unusual for a high score game, but I think it works really well here. I can't fathom the routing and execution it would take to get that maximum score, so I am stuck still trying to just get *a* good score, based on random chance, more or less.

I think that is pretty neat--a skill ceiling, but not one that is actually really visible for all players.

I noticed in the comments someone reached the "top" so I had to go back and look for that, and I think that is also pretty neat--having a sort of secret in the game. I think there is some sort of theme buried here... you can either rest here at the top, forever, but never get any score, or you can try for a high score and meet your inevitable mortality. I think there's something there.

So that's what I found most interesting here. Nice little highscore game. By the way my highscore is 82

Really cool ideas here! The main mechanic is an awesome idea and I like that you flash the blocks before they delete and stop the character for a fraction of a second. It helps so you can plan your next move easier!

I think you have an awesome game here with a bit more polish

I made it to the top too! I don't know if there's some kind of meaning behind it, but I like the secret xD
