This game is stunning! Both audio and visuals are excellent. It runs really smooth too, and movement feels accurate to the environment.. Which I think is especially cool! Id love to see this game more fleshed out

First off, BEAUTIFUL game, love the effects and lighting. There were a few things that were confusing at first, but they all made sense in the end (e.g. running into walls felt awkward but it also felt realistic, getting trapped by the squid felt inescapable but I reread the controls and realized I had to mash Space rather than just pressing or holding it, and I wanted a way to heal but the focus was on a survival game). The kelp disappearing forces you to go deeper which is good, and once I figured out the gameplay loop it was nice. Would only suggest more things happen as you go deeper, because while it does get harder it's also still slow and the same loop in general, at least afaik.

The visuals, audio and overall mood of this game are amazing!
At first I tried to play with awsd. D and S seemed to work, making me think that I could only move right and down. Found out I had to use the arrow keys after reading the instructions again :-).

visuals are simply perfect for the style, the one thing i found confusing was the background containing similar elements to the foreground, making me unsure where to go

Beautiful, beautiful game. Your pixel art skills are rad. Fun as well. I found two unexpected behaviors (I got stuck with the sub in the bed of the ocean once, and the bad guys do not swim on the canals but rather can seemingly go through walls). I think with more polish this can be a fully released game. Congrats!

I was seeing your development during the weekend at Ludum Dare's discord and was looking forward to see the result. It did not disappoint! The light and color pallette in this are just beautiful. The player's movement is smooth and the overall experience was very fun. My only suggestion would be to control the robot with WASD inputs as well, because many doesn't use the arrows like myself haha

really beatifull art and atmosphere

the "ocean depth" feeling is spot on (maybe just the music a little bit to much on the speed side for this kind of mood but... hey)

Nice job

Gathering kelp never felt so great as ever before. Solid submarine movement, but most importantly - seeing squidet and interacting with her was just really amazing. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Really nice game.

I love the atmoshphere and color scheme a lot; it gives the eerie deep water feeling while remaining aesthetically pleasing.
The gameplay is great; it's not super difficult, so a casual like me can still play it but not too easy that it gets boring.
I love squidette the most; she doesn't hit you unlike most enemies, but gives long hugs that can deplete your oxygen, she's unique and she behaves like a real squid!
I looked forward to this game the most, since I spent most of my time watching it develop in the discord server, and boy, it definitely didn't dissapoint.

Nice game! I got to 570. I like the lighting effect from the submarine. I didn't think the squid attacks really added too much to the game, but very nice experience overall.

I can't read any of the text because the window is scaled down a lot (I keep my browser about 1000 pixels wide so I can have room for other windows, that's why I targeted my games at like 800x600)

I kept losing health from running into walls, and twice a squid attacked me and I had no way to avoid it or defend myself, because it could go through walls. I don't know what the space bar does because it said "Escape in the instructions" and I'm not sure if it picks up kelp or what?

I didn't die, but the game felt very unfair (I was also losing oxygen, so not only is there wall damage but a timer all the time??) and I quit before getting a 2nd kelp

@reactor-scram Thanks for you comment, indeed owygen and health are issues, you can escape the squid by bashing SPACEBAR
the game is: your in the deep, keep the colony alive, the colony is represented by the blue oxygen bar
Futures updates are in the works and more information will be added :id:
