EDIT: Done! https://axon.itch.io/dwarf-bros
Concept of splitting duties like that is neat idea! I think you should dig (get it? XD) in that direction!
I got to 34 gems on floor 13 before it got too repetitive for me ^_^. Occasionally, it made me feel *really* clever with getting myself in just the right location to get Luizi to do what I wanted, but usually he kinda went off and did his own thing and I wasn't quite sure what he was going to do, I think I never completely understood his rules - when he'd fall more than one space down or when he might turn around while falling and suddenly mine back in the other direction...
Graphics and audio were also pretty good!
The game overall is pretty solid, I think the main improvement that could be made would be to have a bit more variety, such as bombs you could collect and use. After the first 8 or so floors it started to feel like more of the same. Regardless it was fun, well done!
And I agree about art and sound being repetitive, I'd totally improve on that in a longer attempt. Thanks for your feedback!
BTW, I agree with most feedback from everyone here, you're spot on, thanks a lot, ppl :)
Really love the game concept - very innovative! Graphics are great and music/sounds are decent too. Think the main issue is that there aren't a lot of ways to stop your mate once you've gone down one level. More gray rocks would be great so you can stop the guy more actively.
I must admit I expected to lose when I left my brother behind at first. It's somewhat hard to tell that you've transitioned to another floor rather than the level resetting (I thought falling out of the map was killing me)
That is, I often found that there was not a lot of point to try to figure out where to direct Luiz to, as I could usually just dig down and grab a couple diamonds, and then dig to the exit. It was certainly fun when Luiz interacted with me in interesting ways, however. Especially when he managed to grab a couple diamonds.
I like the pixel-art graphics. They certainly complement the digging theme quite well.
I initially thought the other guy was a rival rather then help.
There is not really any incentive to try to explore much as you can just go straight down, grabbing one or two gems per level. I think it would work better to be more of a puzzle game where you have to properly work with the npc to get all the gems.
