promo_itch.png

Enter a submarine and explore the newly discovered Aronnax Trench and catalogue the creatures living inside.

Story & Gameplay

Genre: Exploration

The year is 1997 and you are a freshly graduated marine biologist. This is your first expedition and you are eager to prove yourself to the world, (and the grant agreements). With your team on the main boat, you alone enter a submarine and explore the newly discovered Aronnax Trench and catalogue the creatures living inside and maybe make the greatest discovery of the late century?!

Controls

Use the mouse to scroll through your submarine and interact with the environment.

You can click on the devices and doodats to control your submarine. Pick up the camera and take a picture of every different fish you can see. Use the bulletin board to locate and learn more about each fish.

Maybe I just have a soft spot for interactive cockpits, but this game is amazing! In-game tutorialization is great, and looping scrolling is a nice touch.

Nice game!
I felt like as if I were exploring with the submarine.
After I get used to the manipulating, it became fun to play:)
at first I thought I had to do a lot of things to manipulate the submarine, but it was not so difficult

Nice game, I liked the overall vibe of it and while "diving deeper" is a very obvious way of approaching the topic, combining it with being a marine biologist hunting for photos is a nice idea.
I'd guess the Interface of the cockpit could stand to be a bit more clear, even though everything is labeled I was a bit confused during the first play through. I really liked the core loop of fiddeling with all the equipment all the while seeing the creatures in the corner of your eye, being just fast enough to escape the focus of your lens after you're finished by preventing your death (or rather, rescue) by managing your sub.

Greatz game!

This game was really impressive! The graphics really matched the mood and the game really fits the theme. It's a pretty tricky management game but the difficulty is exactly the right amount of difficult to neither be too easy or too frustrating. Really good job!

This is absolutely incredible!

The controls takes some time to get used to, but in a good way, as this is clearly intended and serves the experience.
The graphic choice of pixel art inside and low polly outside is fantastic.
The audio sets just the right ambiance.

At the beginning, my first picture added some fish I did not even see to my collection. Maybe it was far away in the background?
The ending art felt rushed, but this might be the only thing that is not very well polished in the game.

Full 5/5 for me, great job 💕

The game is great, I really enjoyed the art style you employed here, wish the skybox was a a bit better however,
I got stuck when the O2 ran out, the game didn't really get me a game over but just lay there without power. I wasn't sure what happened till I looked around and got the prompt the when the 02 runs out the mission is aborted. so that loop didn't trigger off, guess we have to manually restart if we run out of 02?

The game evokes emotions. At first, I did not understand how to control a submarine, but after the first loss, I want to take and learn to pass the game!
It is very good that you have made a lot of features for controlling the submarine.

I saw this game and I knew I had to play it. The theme and art are great. I wouldn't exactly call it "fun" but it was very atmospheric. It seemed like it should be a really nice and relaxing game, but I found myself fighting with the controls just a bit much to get in a zen state with it. I did manage to balance my decent rate with the pressure, but I felt like that mechanic didn't really add all that much. I wanted to look at the fish, but I spent all my time working the controls. Still I enjoyed the experience a lot. 15/18 fish, and the end. Wasn't ready for that, but cool

There are quite a few games about exploring depths and taking pictures of sea creatures at this jam. But your game actually did it great. It has the right balance between searching and managing your submarine, it kept me engaged and entertained till the very last encounter. I didn't find all of the creatures but had a lot of fun searching for them. The graphics are great, the sound is atmospheric, the pacing is just right. It's a nice and polished game. Congratulations!

Wow, nice entry. There's so much things to do in the submarine, I really enjoyed it. The only thing I don't like are fish swimming backwards :-)
