Great art style! Kept dying at the green slime precision jumps and gave up after 4 times.

I clicked to find a wife. I stayed for the gameplay and graphics. However I was unable to find a wife because I kept getting foiled by the lava and now i am distraught.

@malfeasance Thanks for your comments. I hope you can get through again. After all, while we had time, we listened to you and made some changed to the level

Very nice art style. Especially the opening screen. Your attacks are really slow though, especially when enemies take more than one hit to kill. Felt like I was waiting around a lot just to attack again.

Cool style and nice background story ! A bit challenging but for some reason I kept coming back at it even though I kept dying in the same spot ! Finally making it to the wife was really rewarding even though I proceeded to immediately die afterwards

This game has astounding graphics. The feel is great. It's incredible how good it feels from visual
perspective.

Very good job!

From the gmaeplay perspective, it could use some work, but it's great nonetheless.

*also I think i glitched at the end*

Awesome game and nice graphics and story, the game is quite challenging but I finally made it to the end. I saw some jump issues I think, and the attack speed is a bit low but nothing too repulsive and loved the japan/samurai theme.

The instant restart in acid can be frustrating, but clean little game overall

I really liked the graphics and overall mood of your game. The only confusing part for me is that the character always makes this weird mini-dash towards the enemy when attacking.

Wow! Your game is amazing!

First of all, I just stayed for 5 minutes in the graveyard to listen to the score and enjoy the animation as well as the moon. The gameplay itself was thought through, well balanced, and the level had a structured design. Good job there! It wasn't easy, but neither was it too frustration or punishing. The key-binding felt a bit unconventional, but that was soon familiarised. The jump mechanic could use just a little bit of adjusting for my taste, but that'd be just a minor thing. It would have been really cool, if the split screen smoothly transitioned into one whole screen as you approach the wife! And some quiet sound effect are always a plus.

Over all, your game is one of the best entries I've seen so far. And that you based it on a Japanese legend was a marvellous opportunity to share eastern culture with us!

Cheers :fish:

Great game! Really like the characters.
The jumping mechanics feels a little off when jumping off the little blocks, the jump key doesn't activate if you move first than jump, it works better if you jump first than move forward.
Also, you can end up sliding off the little blocks if you land more on the edge side even though the character's roughly 2/3rds on the block. Can really see this becoming a polished game.
Great visuals and audio.

I really like this art. It's good job. It will be better if you add check points. It's really sad when i die and spawn at the start. The game has cool art, gameplay and music.

you cought me easily. Nice art, this samurai-themed character and I'm already yours. Then you add catchy music and craft the whole with a save-the-beauty goal which is always enjoyable. Good job!

Art, music, and play-ability are all fantastic. I just feel maybe if the player moved faster it would be nicer or if you added a sprint feature because at least in my opinion it feels kind of slow and sluggish.

Art style and animation are wonderful. You chose good music too.

I felt the platforming physics were a bit loose and floaty for how much precision you need, and the level design felt a bit unfair at times.

That may all sound negative but for a jam submission its amazing that that is the worst I have to say, things that would very obviously be fixed in longer play testing. So much potential! I'd love an 'invulnerable' mode for the jam and testing though =)

nice art liked the mechanics but I don't think the music fits the concept and graphics

Fun platformer with beautiful graphics and a cool soundtrack. It does need some coyote time though because jumping off terrain felt unfair and I just dropped down

Nice stylish pixel graphics! Speed boosts on attacks give the game interesting dynamics.

Some remarks:
1. Game lacks of audial feedback on actions. Expectation: sounds make the game more catchy.
2. Acid is merciless. Expectation: acid damages instead of killing or level contains several checkpoints, especially after key events.

Good entry!

Amazing graphics, mood and setting. Also i really liked the fact that you have to go back in the level after reaching the end, it's pretty cool.

I probably played this game longer than I should have. It is really fun and challenging. I don't know if you've ever heard of the term coyote time, but I think it would help make the game far less frustrating ;)
I really loved the cutscene in the middle, although I didn't know the game continued after that at first. A little cutscene at the end would have been nice too, but I guess the timelimits forbid that.
Great game

very satisfying movement and it's cool that you can finish the game without pulling out the sword once)

The aspects that I liked the most were the movements and physics. The art is very good but could use some improvement(for example, I think the environment could have matched more with the style of the character, colour pallette-wise mainly). The music is great but it is too loud. And I could just ignore most of the enemies without being penalized for it. Overall this is a great game, congrats!

The game has a lot of potential, just the animations need to be a little more reviewed. Jump and landing also are too unprecised. I really like the pixel art, good game =)

Your game reminded me of the Rogue Legacy platformer! Really great graphics and impact animation, but I would like to see a small tutorial right in the game or a backstory.

Great sound and mechanics, good work!

First of all, it's some amazing scenery on that first screen. I stayed there for a solid minute listening to the music and testing the conctrols.
Unfortunatly I think the rest of the game lack this sort of atmoshpere and feels more generic.
The art style is amazing, the music is still cool though it clashes with the first theme.

Instant death on lava is too unforgiving, especially without checkpoints.
Also I'm not sure why part of the screen is taken by my wife and why she's standing beside a vending machine ?

Overall there are some good ideas an talent, but the whole is a bit inconsistent to my taste :)

Love the pixel art and the story was clear. Would love to see a checkpoint system added so that I could try again more quickly once I fail. Best of luck with the game if you are going to work more on it!

The art is delightful and very impressive for a weekend jam. Gameplay is a bit frustrating due to some collision issues. It seemed jump would fail at moments when it was absolutely critical, like it took a little too long to register "OnGround" state which led to me falling in the lava too many times. Thoroughly unforgiving as some others mentioned. With so much death, maybe the music should continue on retry instead of starting over.

Brides are known for their gracious hospitality. Their hospitality is dynamic, with every new generation bringing something new to the table. Despite these differences, the spirit of hospitality remains unchanged. This wedding tradition is still observed in many Polish towns today. Here are a few traditions of the [polish bride](https://bridewoman.net/europe/polish-brides/). Let's start with the invitation. The bride's father accompanies her to the ceremony. Her father then ties her into her dowry with the help of her mother's parents.
