Sergei the Salvager by kankje

[raw]
made by kankje for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

You are Sergei, a salvager of the deep seas. You salvage anything worth money, though most of it does not end up in your pockets. Maybe one day you can be the boss and leave the salvaging for others. Until that day, you must dive deep into the sea once again to find what others left there.

Super fun game! I love the gameplay loop of going up and down a little deeper every time. It was a little confusing at first as the boat at the surface moves at the same speed as the submarine, making it look like I wasn't moving at all. Other than that this was a super fun and charming game. Great job!

Nice game! Sadly I ran into a bug. My ship wouldn't stop going up. But I liked the "ocean feeling"!

Really surprised how you managed to finish a game with such a broad scope in only 72 hours. I liked this sense of depth and cosmic horror. Especially the final 'surprise' was very well implemented. Good job.

Woah, what a dark twist! It's a simple story, but the mood made from the lighting, the simple upgrades, everything made this a great game. Nice job!

Overall a good game, love the atmosphere. The graphics are a bit simple, but the audio really sells it. Maybe add some extra details to the seafloor? Great twist as well.

Thats a very good game. Ambient and Soundeffects are nearly perfect. You can win and loose, but you wouldn't know without playing it twice.
I am really amazed by this

I love this game. Reminds me of some old flash games like Motherload. I especially liked the small details, such as a submarine with an increased number respawning when you die.

Really liked the game. Exploration aspect was really nice, and only thing i can point out is small area, but given the time it took, game came out great!

This was cool but seemed a bit short unless I missed a second level?

Very atmospheric and the gameplay is really interesting and captivating. I'd love to play the full game like that
Well done, well done!
I'd apreciate if you could also check out our puzzle game "Deep Sweep". Thanks and best of luck! :D

The game is awesome! I need to play more! I think the only point to improve it's the pixel art, but I know that sometimes you need to make a quick art in order to deliver solid gameplay in a jam

That was really good! Congrats on making a completable game!

The ambience is simple, but really effective in creating a lot of atmosphere (or lack of one, since we're underwater? :D ).

Really liked the gameplay, if I had to nitpick, it was a little dark, but that just added to the atmosphere, so not really a negative.

A solid gameplay loop and great atmosphere. The upgrades/progression were spaced out nicely and lead to a fun conclusion. Felt very polished overall, great job!

Not bad at all. A little short, but zero grind, which this style of game could have easily had.

The graphics and sound really created a nice atmosphere, and the game was a nice length. Using the flares was a bit confusing, as sometimes it seemed like they didn't really scare the fish off, but I probably wasn't doing it right. Nice job overall, though!

Very nice atmospheric game. The gameplay mechanic is really simple, but it tells a nice story. The graphics and the sound fit nicely together. Would've liked if it was longer.
