Itsybitsy Spideroo by Janetheodd
Itsybitsy Spideroo is a small vertical platformer in the likes of Doodle Jump or Icy Tower - except your goal isn't to go further up, it's about going down!
You're a tiny Spider looking for your partner and all the clues lead you to a dried up well in the middle of the forest. It looks pretty deep... Welp, time to put on your crash helmet and go for a dive!

Great idea though :D
Well done!
That each jumping part is a quite long way up, makes the game pretty punishing (especially with the slow jump physics)
I would have loved to see some actual down-jumping action, though
Overall good entry! :fish:
The controls felt a bit clumsy though with "shift" for the parachute.
I especially liked the artwork.
Overall, really great job
From the minuses, I would like that the spider would dodge faster in the air, it was difficult for me to dodge the stones. Also, if I moved up too fast, the camera couldn't keep up with me and it became even more difficult to dodge.
A seam was visible on the textures, which is easy to fix in Photoshop or Krita with the Pattern Preview function.
But you did a good job =) Thanks for playing
We're glad you liked the game and we'll take the points you mentioned to heart(and as far as possible to engine).
In the post-jam version (will be available sometime soon), the boss level will also be playable, so stay posted!
@joselor we did consider for the game to be playable on mobile as well but decided to focus on desktop for this jam(because time). Maybe in the future there will also be a mobile version, but I don't want to promise anything. :)
Good job
I would rework the tutorial a little bit.
It took me a while to understand that I should go up to tear a web. I tried to jump from a platform and press E meanwhile. :D
At first I didn't understand what to do, but after reading the description (and noticing the platforms) it became clear. Maybe include that information in the game next time? :grimacing:
The Upgrades were an interesting mechanic, though I was a bit disapointed, when the first one disapeared after picking up the second one.
The "Boss fight" I felt was a bit hard, because the "modes" (or what ever you'd like to call them ) were switching rather fast, and you also had to evade the rocks falling down on you.
Overall, I think the game is really good, and the graphics and music fit the mood of the game very well.
I love the art, very clear and very cute. I like the music too even if it can become a bit repetitive.
The game idea is good, going up to go down lets you get a good sense of space and progression!
The game balance is good. I felt it might be a bit too long for a jam game?
Great job all around and thanks for the game!
