Bruh! Seriously, how can something this simple be so fun. It is so addictive, I really love the animations and artstyle. The controls are so smooth and super responsive. Well polished game my friend/friends.

Amazing work here! Everything is smooth and works perfectly. The game is a tad bit difficult, with a lot of enemies popping out on the very first floor at times. But otherwise I'm blown away, really good game!

Fantastic work! You should keep working on this and release it eventually on steam.

Super polished and the vibe is awesome, although this game kicked my ass. The enemy particle speeds were quite fast and hard to pick out with the color scheme. Fun regardless, and thematically appropriate for smashing through hell I guess?

Really cool entry. The art is really well done. All the animation convey the actions clearly. This is also a perfect example on how to do "game feel" right. The balancing is the only issue that is holding the game really back right now. There are quite a few "impossible" (at least they feel like it) situations where you have to lose health. I think the lowest I've gotten was to 6 or 7 (past the shop) and I have felt that that was more based on luck than on execution on my part. Maybe I'm just playing not well enough. What's your current High Score? I would also consider to take this game further post jam. I think you're really on to something with this one! Thanks for making it :)

Very well polished, dificult game for me but in a way that makes me want to beat it. Everything feels very coherent and that makes the experience satysfyingly smooth :)

The game is as good as it looks ! Really nice to play. It's maybe a bit too hard and random but really cool, it has a lot of potential. One of my favorite for now.

Very impressive game! Everything is very polished while having a unique feel. As others have said it may be too hard for some people, but that really is the only downside :)

That was pretty fun. Hard depending on the randomness. I got some pretty hard enemies right off the back, but got a hold on the mechanics after a minute.
The sound was pretty good as well.
I could see this being a strong contender for the top spots.

I think, every LD game should have a game reviewer mode, haha. Actually, I enjoyed the challenge, but, as @warrrkus said, due to the way enemy spawns and how fast their projectiles fly it's sometimes near impossible to avoid damage, and it happens often enough before even the first shop, so there isn't much in terms of sustenance. Add the beam weapon nuances, which require holding aim and locks your movement while firing - and you've got a very difficult game to learn and tackle in 5-10 minutes of average LD reviewer attention span.

But screw the negative feedback, I've still tried to learn and play it because how stylish it looks. Controls, visual feedback, sounds, everything is really tight, nice work.

Just overall awesome! The only thing that bugged me was the the charge on the attack. Most of the time there was not enough space and or time to not get hit, couple that with the "overheating" mechanic and not being able to move while shooting and it quickly becomes too much punishing. Anyway, it's unbelievable what you've accomplished during a jam as a solo dev!

I hate that I can not shoot and move at the same time :-) Other than that, the game is just perfect :-)

Really tight little gameplay loop. I found myself saying "just one more run" several times.

I did run into an issue where one of the maggot enemies somehow wound up in the elevator and I was unable to shoot/kill it or enter the elevator so I was essentially soft-locked.

The visuals are really cohesive and this is nice, polished experience

Only game where I've bothered to actually download it so far. You could tell from the art/mood that it was gonna be good. Honestly, this might be the best game I've played so far. Simple concept, polished, satisfying. You must be a pro game designer in your day job! Haha, soooo good!

This was actually pretty cool man. Art style's really great right off the bat and was nice and simple. The animations were really cool as well. I also loved the enemy variety and how you mixed them up, kept things interesting and prevented the combat from getting stale. Were you inspired by a game called Gutwhale ? The worms and skulls kinda reminded me of that game lol. The laser beam was rad, made me feel powerful lol.

On to what I didn't really like. Enemies kinda spawn a little too fast into the room and as a result, you end up taking up damage before you can act (or maybe I'm slow lol). The fire rate of the pot enemies and the small fireball-like enemies was a little too high as well. On top of that, it was a little hard to tell if they'd fire or not. Any kind of indicator would help there. Maybe slow down the frames of animation which occur when they're getting ready to fire. That would be a good indicator and provide better anticipation to their attacks. Also I feel like bigger rooms would really help in this game, cus it's a little hard to dodge in the currently cramped rooms lol.

Still, I really liked this game. I got uptil the first section where you can buy upgrades and I'm definitely going to play this more. Awesome job

Hi my friend how are you! I come to congratulate you on your game, your arts and animation are evolving in a very fast way, it makes it seem so simple, of such quality, the game is fun, very lively, and good-humored, I hope you continue to give continuity to this project, and turn it into a commercial project with achievements and some increments to add new players like stories, 5/5 graphic stars, if you can give me feedback I would be grateful, a big hug.

The combat itself is great and feels very well balanced around the slow firing attack. Sometimes enemies can spawn on top of you though making it feel a little unfair at times when getting hit.

Other than that, very fun game.

I really liked the game. I left it saved on my desktop to go deeper and deeper. I really like it when art is made with such a limited palette. Show me how creative the artist is. Good music, good mechanics and very polished game. Congratulations on the excellent work!

This is great, loved the art and colour chose made it so much fun to play with. The character design was really well done. Just wish that you could also use the arrow keys as it was difficulty to play with the keys assigned on my laptop. Music and story were nicely done and helped set the mood.
