Piling Up by zanderpm

[raw]
made by zanderpm for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

Shoot the asteroids before they hit the ground! Once an asteroid touches the ground it can no longer be destroyed, but it can still destroy you!

Don't let a couple of fallen asteroids make you nervous, but the deeper the pile gets, the less space you'll have to work with. And be careful with your shots. If they don't hit an asteroid in the air, they fall to the ground too.

Keep an eye on the time and see how long you can last!

This is cool. I like the idea of things piling up. With more features this could be a full game. Maybe try to modify for mobile and sell it! I think it would be great.

Missed bullets as obstacles is clever.

Simple but pretty fun to play, when screen is getting full, difficulty increases and is more fun :D

Great game! I thought that it was extremely fun. It was really creative, and I liked it a lot; however, I do have some feedback that would make this game even more fun:

1) If the player knows when the boulder hits the ground, it would be clearer if the asteroid could be destroyed or not. For example, If the boulder changes color when it hits the ground, it would be great. In Unity, you can do this by simply changing the color property of the sprite renderer.

2) The player movement was a bit too slow for me, so speeding the player up could be good. Alternatively, you could instantly change the player's speed, not gradually.

Overall, the graphics were good, and it was a really fun submission despite the fact that it was made in a few days.

Basic, but with a twist to make it fun. Solid entry.

Nice game! It is like a mix of tetris and asteroids! That was a clever use of the physics engine! Maybe adding screen wrapping from the sides could help to get really far away asteroids. If you add some music and sound effects would be great!
Good job!
