Depar - LD48 by Cirdan

[raw]
made by Cirdan for Ludum Dare 48 (COMPO)

This was a game I made as an exploration of a scifi theme, as well as trying out a way to construct entities in code that allowed me to create a variety of things and interactions. It's a pretty short and simple game that's more about establishing a the setting and theme rather than creative gameplay.

Pretty fun! I love the graphics. Got to level 20 before I realized the robots weren't aggressive. Guess I'm just a crazed robot murderer.

I like the ideas behind this and I really like your sprites. It is a little disappointing that the enemies just sit there, but I understand that this is more of a proof of concept sort of thing. I think this would be a really great game if you fleshed out the mechanics a bit more. I like the setting of like the mechanical underbelly of a space colony. Neat idea.

The idea is there, it just wasn't executed very well.
It gets boring very quick, if you were to add some enemy ai and allow the player to shoot while moving, that would make the game much better.

Good Job!

I liked the universe and style. And the eyebrow things the character does when shooting is so funny. Good foundations for a more polished game :)

Hey, a game with a Linux binary and it doesn't look like you used an engine! Kudos!

I liked the graphics, the atmosphere felt nice. With just a little bit more polish, say some dialog options in the overworld and some enemies that actually shoot back in the dungeon, this would have been a self-contained little adventure!

We all know how it is though, time pressure during the Compo is brutal. I have to say though the game is strangely fun, and the gun has a satisfying sound effect. I feel this has potential for an entertaining post-LD version!

I like the music and visuals. I would have liked a bit more gameplay, but the story was pretty weird and funny.
