Elevator to Hell by SpookyTrain

[raw]
made by SpookyTrain for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

Hope you enjoy playing our wave clearer game "Elevator to Hell" aka "Hellevator".

Aside from the usual game dev and Godot frustrations, we had a blast making it! Two operating systems where also sacrificed in the process.

I really like how you used the theme, it's pretty creative and the pun is also pretty fun ^^
The gameplay is also and it's really nice to use the abilities and move

The wave complete song is amazing! I wish it was playing throughout the game :)

The definitely-not-lizard hellhounds were my favorite enemy by far, they behaved really well! Good job on that.

I liked all the weapons/abilities, though the dodge felt less useful - my normal walking was enough to kite enemies around. Shockwave also seemed counterproductive since the ranged attack did best at close range.

Overall had a blast playing though, with one or two more enemy behaviors I can see this becoming something I could play for hours!

The theme was very prevalent and the gameplay was quite fun! The difficulty ramped up pretty nicely up until the 800m altitude at which point there was a noticable bump (mostly in just higher number of higher health enemies.

Some of the sounds were a bit harsh on my ears, at least, and the game lacked some polish, but all in all it's a decent entry.

F for the operating systems.

I liked the variety of enemy behavior and types (some fast and low health, some slow high health). The player abilities are cool too, I particularly like the temporal dodge for slow-mo. Kind of wished that you could use the shockwave attack to knock enemies off of the elevator platform. Not a bad take on the theme!

Fluid gameplay and nice variety of enemies. I learned some ways to prevent taking damage very quickly, so the game is also pretty intuitive even for the people who are not used to wave killing games like myself. Good interpretation of the theme! Congrats to the dev team.

Well done for two people ! I like the fact that the enemies have a different behaviour (and not just a sprite).
In my opinion the simplest improvement would be to put a loading bar for the shutgun

Thanks for web export !
