Wow! This was great. I was terrible at it . The graphics, audio, and tutorials were so well done. I found the controls a bit tricky? My miners got stuck and I couldn't figure out how to get them back to the subterra as it wouldn't let me draw the path, there also seems to be an issue with trying to "play again" after I died. Otherwise though, amazing effort.

This was super cool, the combination of managing your miners at the same time as you can't stand still with the drill for too long is very fun. I kinda wish the moody tone from the intro would've been in there with the gameplay too, it's a bit jarring with the music change. But that's just a small thing, overall, great effort, well done! :)

Really, really well done game. Great visuals, audio, music, all of it, and what an original concept. Routing the miners around and having to account for getting them back into the rig in time--very cool. Love it. :)

The feel of the game is very nice ! Graphics and sound works very well together. My main critic would be on the gameplay. It's interesting but hard to grasp

I really love this game! It's just so fun! It feels very satisfying to lay out a long path for the miners that takes them past a bunch of diamonds. Unfortunately it made my computer crash twice for some reason but what I played was very enjoyable. I just wish I could play for longer without worrying about crashing. Overall a solid entry!

Edit: Also I forgot to mention, I love the voice acting!!

very fun and expandable, and SUPER polished. great job! however my game keeps freezing and i don't know why. i think it happens when i try to start the engine again right after i draw a path for a miner.

I enjoyed this a lot!

Despite the foreboding setting, the chill music and cheery voiceovers of the miners were endearing.

The gameplay has a lot of potential, too. Every time I saw massive patch of crystals on either side of the Subterra, I got super excited. It's satisfying to chart out the paths of the miners and have the ship rendezvous further down.

I did find controls and pathing tricky. I associated the space bar as a "stop time" that occurs when selecting a miner. This is more of a PEBKAC error. But I wonder if it would be better if spacebar was a time stop button (ala FTL) and to start the engine you had to click on the buttons on the top left?

Anyways, cool game and great work!

Wow, the audio in this game is really top notch. Love the two themes.

The sprites are also really cute and an impressive amount of polish.

Good job!

"I know how to ride horses and break rocks!" <3

This game had pretty animations animations, great music, and a clear presence.

I was having a nice relaxing time until SUDDENLY LAVA!? Then a mad panic but I only survived about a minute after that. Great fun, well done friend!

This is really good - nice graphics and mechanics.

Unfortunately, both versions were very unstable for me and kept crashing - but that's probably because I'm on Linux playing through Wine so it won't be your fault

Really nice concept! Having to manage the miners as well as the machine is pretty intense, but fun. The tonal shift from the intro to the gameplay is a little jarring, and the miners voices, while cute for the first couple of minutes, got slightly irritating. That said: the audio design overall was really nice and fit the visuals well. The pixel art is some of the best I've seen yet. Great job!

Very cool game! Strong Terraria vibes!

Controlling the miners took a little bit of getting used to. I assumed 1 click would be enough to send them.
Once I figured that out, it's just trying to get lucky and stay ahead of the lava.

That said I wish there was a bit more to do. Especially once the lava stars to catch up, it feels like once I see the lava and if I'm low on diamonds, I'm screwed, and then I'm forced to slowly watch my cute little miners succumb to the inevitable.

Even without adding an extra resource, if there was a way to burn more diamonds or *something* to speed up, it would give me SOME hope

The music was great. The visuals were great. That first "selected something from the menu" sound I think comes from RPG Maker 95

Overall a very good entry with a lot of potential!

PS. I love the chipmunk voices! Is that custom voicework?

Good quality sound. Nice that you have a tutorial built in. Pretty interesting to have some RTS style mechanics in a jam game. Had to be clever to try to get miners to loop around, pick up as many diamonds as possible, and get back onto the platform without being too early or too late.

Amazing game! Well presented, addictive, and polished. The gameplay is also pretty original. The sense of urgency of having to drill deeper fits the theme well. It would be nicer to get an earlier warning of the the lava coming. As it is, you're pretty much screwed by the time it becomes visible. The game could also start off easier or have an easy mode, as the game seems pretty impossible to a beginner. Last but not least, I think the game would benefit greatly from better routing controls, for example using cursor keys to lay the path.

What an entry! The music is awesome, the graphics are perfectly executed, and the miner voices are brimming with LD charm. Pulling off RTS style character selection and pathfinding for a jam game can't have been easy, but here it is!

It took me a second to really understand the controls and how getting more miners worked, and I felt like pausing the engines automatically on miner move sometimes got a bit frustrating. My biggest problem was probably the lava, as it kind of just creeps up without warning. Once it appeared, I went from 0 casualties to being unable to stop for any reason and losing everyone aboard; I think the lava moves just a bit too fast for you to really do anything about it, and a one-time ability to boost past the lava with some permanent stat reductions might be a nice compromise to counter this without ruining the tension. Otherwise, the controls feel a little unwieldy trying to keep the engines actually moving while ordering your miners, and I feel like the system could use some general QOL. I would have also liked a stronger musical sting or sound cue for the lava wall.

The whole premise of the game is awesome, and long before the lava appears you feel a constant pressure to keep moving that keeps you from wanting to waste time on the smaller gems. Once the lava's on you, there's a real feeling of hopelessness when you're past a certain point and just trying to outrun the inevitable as your power dwindles. Despite this, the music is a nice beat that complements the gameplay nicely.

Overall, I think you've got a really solid game concept here, and maybe even a strong candidate for further development. I'd love to see where this game goes if you keep working on it. I think doing a little more with the actual Subterra 88 ship or stringing together a more fleshed-out world could easily justify a price tag on this game.
