Falling Into Dreams by sorlok

[raw]
made by sorlok for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

You've worked all night on your game jam, and now it's time to sleep. But the city is waking up, and it's hard to enter a deep slumber with all the noise. Guide our hero deeper and deeper into repose by collecting "sleepy things" and avoiding or breaking "not sleepy things".

Make sure you unzip the file before running it.

Controls: * Arrow Keys or WASD => Move Left/Right * Tilt Phone => Move Left/Right (Android only) * Tap Mouse or Click Phone => Break obstacles (some cannot be broken)

Gameplay: * Gather "sleepy things" to fill up the sleep bar, and avoid hitting "not sleepy things", which reduces it. * Fill up the sleepy bar to reach a new deepness of sleep (level), but if the bar empties you'll have to try again. * Some "not sleepy things" can be broken by tapping/clilcking them. * This game is optimized for phones, so the layout may look a little odd on Desktops!

About: This was my first game jame entry made using Godot! I learned a lot, and enjoyed using the engine quite a bit!

i really enjoyed the audio in this one. especially in the first level, the various sfx meshed so well with the bgm that i found myself wishing there was a ddr-like rhythm element to this game for hitting the target items. ended up trying to get them on the beat anyways in order to interact with the music. as is, makes for a nice little game!

wow, this game was very satisfying, great polish. Very nice choice of audio and music, adds to the game so much.

I wish you could move a little vertically, not the whole screen, but a little would be nice. However I played on desktop, so I could see the tilt controls make more sense for phones and only moving horizontally.

Anyways, nice job!

Hey Godot! nice job. I can't imagine playing on phone LOL. Everything was great! Maybe an icon next to the 5 slots so I know which item is collectable. I didn't realize the jelly fish were a sleepy thing at first.

Really nice game! It took me a while to realize I had to touch the clouds and squids, but after that it was easy to get the hang of it.
Great job!

I like the sound direction on this game, although not sure if some of the hazards are suppose to be really LOUD haha! I can see this being a really neat phone game as well (which you did also port to as well!)

A potential kid-hypnotizing mobile app with hypercasual feeling. Still, music felt quite repetitive and in your face (would be hard to sleep to, if the purpose). I really wanted the gameplay to be faster, and there seems to be no actual connection in how many collectibles you get, more of a cloud/angel poking to get Zzz's. Also, not sure about tilting, if you're heading for release.
