Into the Sea by Fractal Flower Girl

[raw]
made by Fractal Flower Girl for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

Pirates have taken your treasure! Their ship sank, and you dove into the sea to get your treasure back. Now, using the arrow keys to move, you must reach the bottom of the ocean to recover your treasure. Click the green flag at the top left to restart. Watch out! Even though some animals are harmless, some are very dangerous. Good luck!screenshot2.png

I liked the drawings and the atmosphere. It's pretty cool for a game made in Scratch.

Simple but quite addictive, and my best score is around 160! Also the music and overall mood are nice too!

Wow awesome job with the hand drawn art style. It felt like the turtles would sometimes try to protect me from the sharks (but they usually failed :joy:)

Really nice art and music! It sets a dreamy and surreal mood, very soothing. However it contrasts with the difficulty that quickly becomes stressful and frustrating. While the challenge isn't uninteresting at first, I'd say it outstays its welcome. The second half of the screens are really tough, and most of them feel the same. So it becomes just an endurance test.

I've still be patient enough to reach the end! With such a nice atmosphere, it would have been a pity to not see the end. I think I'd have enjoyed it more if it was shorter, but it was still a pleasant discovery. Good work!

This looks great, it reminds me of animations in art TV programs when I was a kid :)

Cute aesthetic. :) I love the crayon-like artstyle you have going. There's not a whole lot to the gameplay. I think it might be nice to have the y position of the sharks a bit more random so they're not all lined up. That might introduce a bit more strategy to the gameplay, instead of going when there's a break in the line.

Really like the art style, holy cows those shark-o's move fast though. Nice entry!

Love the art style, piano music and these crazy moving turtles! Really makes it stand out from most other games, sometimes made it a but difficult to see the enemies though. Nice and fast gameplay. I would have wished a nicer game over state and once I spawned directly onto a kraken, that was a bit sad. Nice work!

Very fun game. It seems that there are a lot of games related to the deep sea. The gameplay of this game makes me shine, that is, I feel that the audio effects can be designed well, and the others are very good!

The art style is super nice, but having to restart the entire game upon a game over is super harsh. I feel like having a little more indication that the game has ended than the entire game stopping in its tracks would be good.

Really loved the graphics ! The pace and the way the creatures moved were all for me haha ! Sometimes a bit fast but I guess that made the challenge ! Each element added a simple and cute touch to the vibe of the game which I really wanted to play and wasn't disappointed ! Thanks !
