What a great idea, actually we could drag the equipment to the summon button to quickly summon a minion hhhh We didn't think of a better way at the time.
@stewmega
Pressing space to pause should make the hand-wringing situation a little bit better XD
The numerical value in this version are a little too inflated since we haven't had much time to test them, a more comfortable version with proper numerical value should be released soon
@c4scar The random appearance of enemies and difficulty balance will be the focus of our short-term update, thanks for trying it out!
Mad respect for the amount of content you've put in. Animations amount is truly huge.
Not sure if there should be some ending scene after I reached the final treasure. Enemies just kept coming.
I did play till the end, but I think I liked the beginning more, wehere you could still think about what golems you want to summon, and where you want to position them. in the end, I was just spamming the best material (first making weapons, then summoning it) with just glimpsing on the chaos on the battlefield.
(Also I noticed your Balance values are a little low, you should get out there and rate some games so more people can discover this bad boy!)
Thanks for playing, in the new version we've adjusted the difficulty to make the first half of the game more interesting, and we've added a short epilogue to explain the significance of that big crown.
@jeremia
You are indeed right, the late chaotic scene is really not what we want to see, the number of people on both sides does need to be controlled, we are considering adding a switch that allows the villain to chase to ease the formation problem, if this demo will continue to be made, I may upgrade the equipment as the main direction of expansion and take the elite route
@jaiden-gerig
Ha ha, in order to participate in this competition I applied to the company for a few days off, so this week I was busy every day, once I had time I would play a lot of other people's work
With that said, I'm not sure if there was a strategy to this game or was it mostly just a game about building and upgrading guys as fast as I could. If there was more strategy that I missed, please let me know. I know you can drag characters around a bit but that didn't seem useful beyond the beginning areas.
Overall I really liked the feel of the game. It somewhat reminded me of elevator stages in beat em ups when enemies drop down and it's go time. All the chaos in the final areas was definitely a sight to behold.
I got a gamebreaker suddenly. The time goes by, but the rest of the game seemed stuck.
Had fun either way, nice work!
Maybe I missed some key instructions, but I didn't feel like I had much to do other than wait for X number of resources and shift+click a button and hope for good RNG? Maybe it could do with a bit more UI feedback about what the icons mean and when they are disabled / enabled as that wasn't really clear so at times I found myself just spamming shift+click in the hope that something would happen.
The graphics are realy good, gameplay too, the music is cool...
Congrats!
I had a lot of fun, good job.
It's calm and cosy at the start, and little by little, it's becoming hell on earth ^^
I have to confess some sounds of the game trigger me... It feels like they were too heavy and shrill for some of them.
Adding some colours to the HUD or to the background would be nice, it's a little too much brown for me :D
But anyway, a really great game, in so many ways!
I would appreciate an in-game explanation of the controls.
Cool game, good job!
@chrissx2 Thank you! I'm glad you were able to find another use for the lag, but we're already working on a fix. If you want to play without lag, you can download the pc version! Also, mixing items and characters was our original idea, but it would have made the game difficult to balance and the player would have had trouble adjusting the character's items, so we went with a simpler solution. If this demo can continue to be made, we will make the characters less and stronger. At that time, mixed items will definitely be available, thank you again :D.
The game is an interesting combination of tactics and RPG elements. Maybe the most complex entry so far, in a good way.
The audio of the game is quite nice. Everything sounds clear and supports gameplay. If something, the game could use more sounds like drag and drop sounds for enhanced feedback. Music I feel is a bit too modern for the aesthetics of the game. Maybe something less electronic could fit in better? Possibly more earthly ambient could even replace music entirely to give a more underground feeling.
The space key doesn't seem to work. It scrolls the page down, so I couldn't pause the game.
I can't really figure out how the HP system works. I see HP stats for the units, but those do not move when taking damage. I fail to see where is the current HP. This would be vital information for more tactic depth. I could place less damaged units in harm's way while keeping more damaged ones back.
Also, maybe the game should restart when everyone is dead. I know there is a possibility to summon more stuff if the player has ore, but to me, the game just feels stuck.
Art is probably the strongest aspect of the game. Everything is super clear and pleasant to look at. The animations look really professional.
Overall super solid entry! A game I've played longest so far.
Great mechanics, very nice art, music that keeps your heart pumping fast...
I liked just about everything in this game. Maybe the beginning was a bit hard, but after a couple of starts once you got to the speed and got first golems of other than rock, it started to snowball forward. Shortcut keys became a must at the end side of the game as it was all but mayhem.
It was a bit hard to drag the tools to golems at first when I hadn't read about the shortcuts.
Overall very polished entry with a complete feeling!
