Pros:
- Simple, yet fun
- Beautiful pixel art
- Great audio
- Crisp controls, game feel
- Dat hammer swing + grunt sound :v:
Cons:
- No use for the shop (or did I miss something? everything sells for 0)
One little extra advice: next time, if you have the time, try adding a small camera shake when the hammer hits to ground (or the zombie )
Overall, I had a ton of fun, played it for like 10 minutes straight.
ye didnt have that
thoughts about the game ->
I dont see how it is connected to the theme deeper and deeper
Selling is confusing
for 3 man team in 3 days it doesnt feel like much.
The only problem I have is brewing potions, I tried to mix different zombie parts 10-20 times but never got any potion.
Anyway keep it up!
if you can't just launch the game, you can download java there: https://www.java.com/en/download/
The game is sooo beautiful I loved the graphics, and the dwarfy music. However I couldn't play it for long cause after 1-2 seconds on the ground, the character was locked underground. I could still hit zombies with the tip of my hammer, but not take objects or lose HP.

However, it really would have helped if the game somewhat communicated it goals, win conditions and controls. Also, is there another method of leaving the shop and starting the next wave other than pressing Esc? The first few rounds I was a little confused by that, I wasn't really sure if a new wave starts of if I'm resetting entirely by pressing Esc.
@catoryu @cninja @guladam There is hidden popularity system which affects cost of items and too little potion recipes (A total of 6). We will add more recipes and make the popularity system more obvious
@guladam Good idea about camera shake!
@colapolka This is the right way of doing this
but we never go lower or anything its always surface
this game matches the theme "danger from below" perfectly
- the music goes very well with the game,
- the art style is nice,
- hammer swing is really satisfying
- unique approach to the game, with making smoothies from zombies.
Thin that can be improved:
- there is a bug that makes you stuck in the ground,
- has no real link to the theme, or am I missing something?
- the goal is not very clear (how to figure out what parts to go into the pot together because there are too many combinations for player to just guess? What to do with the money, or is it just the player's score?)
Nevertheless. Good job.
The hammer swing is nice, it would be nice if it was expanded a bit more so you had more options. Right now it's just whack-a-mole. It's a jam though, so I get there isn't much time. The smoothie and monster part art didn't resemble too much to me, but the rest of the art is great.
I wasn't sure what to do with the smoothies and money either.
Congrats and great work, best of luck :)
The hammer itself is feels really good, the hitboxes are slightly off though.
You need a shop or if there is one it needs to be more obvious where it is.
Great game, congrats! :D
Here is what score I've got to:

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to brew much. We were a bit confused and didn't know if we were trying wrong recipes or just brewing incorrectly.
If we were brewing correctly but with the wrong ingredient, I would suggest to add feedback to the player. Either by creating a 'failed brew' item that can be sold for 1 coin. or by just having a different text on screen.
Other than that, the graphics are nice and the hammer smash feels good.
My congratulations to your submission!
