made by juako for Ludum Dare 48 (COMPO)

Had a lot of fun using and learning LDtk, suck a nice tool. Didn't had time to create music for the game or test it too much, in retrospective it would have been wiser to integrate LDtk and learn it before the 48h hahahaha Hope you like it!

Controls: arrow keys + space for jumping

Nice simple metrovania, I like the sense of progression the controls are very confusing tho

Cool game! The use of gravity as well as swimming is fun. I liked the progression of unlocking abilities. Level design was nice as it was challenging but not frustrating. It would be nice to have a little bit more direction as to where to go. Nice game overall!

Really nice little game. I love the character animations. The concept is also pretty neat. I like that the ending was at the start all along!

Good work!

Interesting entry, the platforming was fun and I think your strongest attribute was the level design, simple but fun. A think a few parts were a little harder than they needed to be but what helps is the way you foreshadow a save room but showing the tiles in the room there next too it. I think thats a sign of a good metroidvania as the small things matter.

Cool a little VVVVVVvania (sorry, I had to with the spring to reverse the gravity thing). Seriously though, it really feels like something you should finish - you've got a good sense of design and progression. A minor change you might consider making: holding a key to swim up as opposed to having to tap it a million times.

Really enjoyed it, great work.

(Edit: oh and even if some bits were a little rough, I thought the sprite work was great!)

Wow! Nice graphics!

And surprise reverse gravity? :O

Item upgrades? Water level that is actually enjoyable?

Amazing game... amazing ending... wow... just wow!

Wooooah that was great! Loved the graphics and level design - just the right level of challenge. New abilities were really fun to play with. The final screen also looked really great, it was the perfect ending :)

This is legit a good game and i love the art style. The only annoying thing was that one leap of faith where i used the reverse gravity mechanic straight into a circle saw that you cant possibly know is there unless youve died to it once.

I would love some audio too!

With that said, everything else is great! I would legit pay to play a longer version of this!

Character controls could use some small tweaking

A simple, yet fun metroidvania. There is a good sense of progression and the controls felt responsive.

I wished the game had some sound effects, though.

@secret-magic-404 @dwightdavis @jonrei @xoreaxeax @phoenix-fireflower Thank you so much for the kind words! you all made my day :)
I agree with you 100% I hate that leap of faith too, horrible game design. I needed a Big square to connect the rooms and around 30 minutes. Clearly the reverse gravity mechanic doesn't work with vertical levels. At least now we know XD
Yes it does need a little tweaking in the gravity/jump department
sorry for no sound :( I need to prepare better for next time and have the sfx sound tools ready

Really liked that, perfect length of game, tight controls, and lovely art. If it had music and sound effects it would elevated it a lot. I doesn't quite fit the theme for me (because your goal is to escape upwards), but that's a small gripe. I thought the level design was stellar, reminded me of VVVVVV. Great job!

great work, impressive amount of content for 48 hours. the flip gravity with water physics was an excellent idea, well executed.

Great entry, such a complete game for a compo! I love the pixel art and the ultra charming jump animation. I'm impressed that you managed to add different types of actions (normal platforming, swimming, inverting gravity) to create a deep gameplay experience in only 48 hours. I would love to see a fleshed out version of this game, with sound and music. Are you going to keep working on it?

@felo07 @marc-jones @zzox @pijamar Thank you for your kind words! My secret tool was LDtk + haxe+khawy(my own engine) made a lot of level content super fast. I want to finish this(add some fx +sfx+ music and sounds) and then a bigger game so I can tell/create the rest of story. Thanks again!

This was pretty fun! Here are some notes I took while playing:
- Cute graphics!
- Weird how the object that changes gravity looks like a trampoline.
- I really like metroidvanias!
- Passed through the floor once and got stuck.
![1.png](///raw/ded/62/z/427a3.png)
- Really cool ending!!

So aside from that problem this was really good! Short and sweet.

@edur thank you! Glad you like it.
@fupi you found the secret room shhh. I'm not sure if you can access this area without the gravity bracelet, but maybe you can. The idea was to have a happy ending with a boss fight, I was out of my mind hahaha
