Donut Chat by Colletto Gregory

During a particularly long game jam night, you fall into a strange and trippy dream
The deadline is closing in on you, no way you can complete your killer idea in time - even worse, your team’s evil Game Designer Delamane has added more tasks to the team’s board than you could reasonably complete in an entire week!
You really gotta figure out the balance between work, breaks, food & sleep for next time, somehow, those weird dreams are getting old...
In our non-interactive/non-violent / non-playable (?) game, you just walk and chat with our high tech chatbot Del (who is definitely not inspired by our real-life blue-eyebrowed GD we mentioned up above)

In this immersive realm, you can take great decisions, which will affect your entire world (‘cause what you read will affect you) - you’ll also encounter mystical flying objects and critters.

It felt a bit weird when I got to some end for the story (I think?) but didn't have any visual clue about that.
I'm curious as to what the original concept of circular platformer with this trippy background could have given.
Aurélien did a really good job with the music, i liked it a lot.
Some of the choice options & text lines were pretty fun too.
On the downside, it wasn't obvious at first when we reach an end, and a button to get back instantly to the menu or start would have been good rather than having to go to the escape menu & restart.
add game controls to description.
I's cool how the game has a bunch of options but having less but more deep ones might be more fun.
Nice graphics!
Also audio didn't seem to work for me.
And finally +2 for gta IV.
First of all I had to zoom out my google window by about 50% to see what actually was going on, then on my first two tries I didn't have any audio and on the third try it was there all of a sudden.
I don't want to repeat all the other comments above, but just so you know: I also found the dead ends of each storyline a bit confusing and would have found it more comfortable, if I could go to the main menu again, instead of restarting the game each time.
Aside from these (i think still easily fixable) issues, i had a fun experience and think this idea could be expanded upon in many ways. Maybe really a collection of several mini games, or just more and longer branching paths that mess with the player. I found that aspect really amusing. Fun idea, and unfortunatelly only almost good enough execution!
Keep it up :D
The fact that you rescoped everything mid-jam but still came up with this is impressive. I personnally like this kind of experience where it's actually just chatting with a bot - *and I know how branching dialogues can be exhausting* -.
I'm sure you already know this, I saw some comments mentioning it but there is a scaling issue on the web version, that's not blocking but it can bug the eye. Also I would have loved an option to restart without f5-ing cause I'm lazy and maybe a real "point final" when we reach the end of a dialogue
The colors and the music really worked together, good job on that. I'm so glad I was sober while playing though, jk.
Good job :)
*I'm still thinking about the geeteehaveeeee*
I was a bit shocked to see the dialog tree end after a very few choices, so I refreshed the page many time and tried different paths, it was cool. I really had the feeling of chatting with someone =D
The game rendering was a bit weird on my screen size, apart from that, the visuals were nice too.
Congrats on your submission =)
