The Quantum Menace by freamdev
Finnaly it's done!
The Quantum Cats are planning to invade our reality and allready took controll of our defenses, can you recapture the anti-virus processors? Can you defeat the seemingly endless hordes of quantum cats?
Post jam edit: Today I fixed the webgl issues so the game is playable from the browser once again, I added no extra feature other then that to the jam version.
Edit Day3: Ended up finding willpower and time to return for a third day even after work. Added a whole bunch of stuff (new weapon, boss fight, new game mode), so if you played allready you might want to consider trying the finished version again.
Edit: Received the feedback that the game does not explain itself very well, so lets do that in the read me! - Shooting the turrets disables them (you can see this by the blue electric effects on them) - Disabling all 3 turret around a shield turns the shield off - Once there are no shields you can shoot at the red processor unit until it turns blue, aftert that the turrets turn back on and help you shoot at the cats.

Postmortem:
Day1: It was quite easy to get started this time, even came up with an idea I liked: you need to get deep into a computer to figure out whats going wrong with it. I had grand plans of a map where you need to disable viruses, then enter the CPU where you need to avoid sub-atomic traps and electrical charges just to finnaly enter deep into the Quantum reality and disable whatever is messing up the system. By the end of the first day it was obvious we'll never see the CPU map let alone the quantum one. I went to bed feeling pretty disheartened because not only it felt like I'm very much out of time, but also I only had one person drop by the stream wich made most of the preparation process feel pointless.
Day2: I woke up fully prepared to just drop out and play some video games, but during the day I received a message from a friend telling me they watched the VOD and can't wait to see how the game will turn out, its supprising how little one need to keep working even when tired and not feeling it :)
Day3: Had to work since it was a monday so most of the day ended up dealing with that. Regardless managed to add a nice shader graph effect to the game, a new weapon, and even a boss fight. Pretty happy how this day turned out even though I'm extremly spent now.
At the end I'm very happy I stuck to it and I learned a lot about unity's physics engine, the universal rendering pipeline and mostly how much work can be done in a weekend if I don't spend it on being down on myself.

@borderdestroyer you did much better on max difficulty then me, thank you for playing!
Glad you had a good time
I like the weapon variety, too. Only request would be a sprint button to get a bit of distance from the mobs/boss when you're getting slammed.
Really nice work though. Tight controls and an interesting mix of weapons.
First, I try to take down the turrets, so they can help me. I generally take 1-2 spots and pick powerups on these areas. This strategy won't work well, so I circumvent the stage shooting at cats after I take the turrets. More boring, but works.
My best scores:
- Beginner: 78.5 (boss defeated)
- Advanced: 24 (probably I was unlucky)
- Expert: X (small time to jot the score, I guess that is bigger than 100, but aren't sure)
- Endless: 77.5
I suggest you to search for a sci-fi font for this game and for better gameplay feedbacks. About the feedbacks: the turret taking hit and turret destroyed have a similiar VFX, so sometimes I got confused. Okay, there is the HP bar, but is a little hard to see the bar in middle of the bright color action/at distance.
@fl Thank you for playing and the feedback, the difficulty actually applies to all 2 game modes. I agree with the VFXs but I was running out of time at the last day, maybe I'll get around fixing up some issues one day :)
