Greedy Miner by Wallkysek
You have a gun, you have a pickaxe, you have mining cart and you are greedy as hell.
Main character is driven by his greed to old mine where lot of miners were buried alive. The deeper he is the harder it gets, but the gold is something you can't just leave!

Enjoy this little piece we've made for Ludum Dare Jam 48. We made it in 48 hours, we like it a lot and we think about expanding it into full game.

It would be so great to see adding turets to the cart, diffrent turrets types
diffrent enemies and increased numbers of them
like a dynamic tower defense
Imagine hordes of enemies and like 10 turrets on the cart with speedy player running around that would be so great
I thought there is no progression :id:
Than trader appeared :)
Mechanics are unclear tbh
what am i suppoused to do and why?
On the gameplay side, I think it's very slow and more challenge wouldn't hurt. Also would love to see some indicator when will trader appear.
One bug I noticed is that not all mined ore gives you a gold nugget - unless this is by design? If that's the case, it would be nice to have it explained too.
I would definitely love to see this expanded into a bigger game!
But, like I've said, I've enjoyed it overall and will definitely do at least few more runs :)
I will try to shed some light.
-It seems like it doesn't give any gold, because we use float for it and sometimes you mine only portion of it. It's caused by our infinite-balancer mechanic.
-The music loop bug is weird, it hapens only in WebBuild, we will try to investigate.
-Thank you for that trader idea, you are absolutly right.
-Trader appers firstly at 5km and then we always add some more kms through our balancing mechanic, so it always depends on the state of your game.
-It seems like its too easy? To be honest, I wasn't able to reach 50km regurarly :/
I do feel your cool mechanics and great pixel art deserve a little bit more lore or serious feel to them, just calling the dude greedy feels like downplaying your dark and cool vibes :)
The idea that you need to keep up with the mine cart if you want to have light is nice.
Some feedback when you hit the ghosts or when they hit you would be nice, but overall cool concept!
Very nice prototype! I love the idea, a kind of rogue-like RPG adventure where you must protect the train on its never-ending journey to some mysterious destination. I would definitely like to see a fully-fleshed out version!
an indicator for when i hit an enemy would be nice..or maybe a health bar for them? sometimes I'm not sure wether I hit them.
Love the upgrades as well btw! will probably play it a few more times C:
btw Its really challenging imo.. i have trouble getting past 25m^^
@keppersnapper Thank you for your feedback. You are right about the music and it's happening only in HTML5 version, we can't crack why and I think it's returned Bug in Unity, there was known similar bug with exactly our symptoms. Thank you about the rules note, we will keep it as it is, every gamer is a bit different so maybe for someone it's just the right amount.
@junamai Thank you for suggestion and I fully agree. To be honest, music and balancing was our most trubling topic. Neither of us had any previous experience and machinima came to late for us.
Your pixel art is beautiful your gameplay idea is really cool and well exectuded and I found that the difficulty is well balanced ( even if I reach only 20955m ^^' )
So really great job !! :D
Art style kind of reminded me of forager which is neat.
