SLING-MAN AND THE CHASM OF 1000 WORRIES by real_flamingicecubegames

Warning: There is blood, gore and some uses of f*ck.

A pair of climbers decide to climb a mountain. Upon reaching the summit, they find a giant hole in the mountain along with what appears to be man-made structures. One of the climbers decides it's a great idea to just jump in there head first. What follows is an unfortunate time for the climber, as he falls through the earth, never to resurface. This is the story of SLING-MAN.

The gameplay of SLING-MAN is simple. You use the mouse pointer to click on parts of Sling-Man to drag him away from hazards such as Spikedudes or Blunt-Blades.

3.png

Unfortunately though, Sling-Man is a fragile human. He dies in one hit so be sure to keep him away from spikes and also try to prevent him from getting carried off-screen.

There is an ending to this game to whoever makes it through the 6 areas in it. Be sure to post what your high score is.

High score was 6640! Try as I might I couldn't get through the first round or two of spike enemies. I always slung myself on em! I do wish there was more feedback for the "slinging", I couldn't tell how far the guy was planning on going.

Really fun to play. It feels really smooth and the mechanics are nice. The story is also quite funny. The only thing I felt was missing was more visual feedback and sounds.

Took a few tries to realize I had to grab the character. I clearly didn't read tutorial well? Font was a little hard to read on tutorial screen.

Had fun swinging and slingin around!

Pretty neat to see a physics oriented game like this. It was pretty funny too as physics games tend to be. I also appreciated the extra layers of depth. A change in scenery is a nice reward for getting deeper. Also the high score meter was a nice touch!

@nardandas yeah I really should have focused on the impact of certain actions more. I also would have liked to add an arrow showing your throw path and strength... all things I can add in an updated version.

@namrog84 I agree with you on that. The tutorial was one of the last things I did on the game. I kinda wish I made it where it was in-game instead. something like Binding of Isaac where you see the controls in the background.

Nice game, it was hard to understand what to do but the concept is fun and I like swinging the character, he seems really desperate ! Good job !
