2.gif 🎲 Yahtzee meets dungeon crawling! 🎲

⛏️Die in the Mine is a hightscore-based dungeon crawling game where you roll dice to make your actions, being able to reroll twice as many dice as you like. You can move, mine, heal and explode blocks from afar.⛏️

ezgif-3-894ab1d8f3b3.gif You've got 10 turns to mine as many gold as you can, running away from the monster, and finally jump into the next floor to keep on mining. See how well you can go and beat your own highscore! 💯

🕹[Complementary Tutorial]🕹

We couldn't make a better tutorial by the deadline, so here are some points on it. - You can only break blocks that are at your height or 1 above. - You can only walk to blocks that are at your height ou 1 above, and fall from any height. - You cannot break where the enemy stands. - You can only roll dice in the Roll Phase and click on "next phase" to go to Action Phase and use the dice with the buttons on the bottom of screen.

The rest is pretty much in the in-game tutorial :)

👽[KNOWN BUGS]👽

  • You are able to explode the same tile as your character is at. Don't do that.
  • You can lock the dice on the previous turn's position. Don't do that either, please. 💜

Could not figure out how the game works. Maybe throw in a bit more of instructions. Love the graphics tho, reminds me of Worms.

Great soundtrack, I liked the gameplay, though once I exploded the enemy I was mining at my leisure. I think sometimes my dice got lost, or maybe an action would use up multiple dice. A great job otherwise! Nice miner beard!

Neat entry with a simple mechanic! I did get a little confused about the instructions and forgot that A) I need X pickaxes to mine a tile with X pebbles, and 2) I need 3 attacks to attack. Aside from that, I thought the Yahtzee mechanic was really fun, and both the graphics and audio complimented the gameplay perfectly. A solid jam entry!

Unfortunately I was pretty confused as to how to play (despite reading the tutorial on this page and in-game) but luckily I realized that once you rolled 3 times, you had to click the actions in the bottom right, THEN click the tile you wanted to do the action on. I also totally didn't realize the slider on the bottom was for rotating the camera until I saw the gif on this page lol. Perhaps add a little camera icon next to/above it?

Aside from that, I really like the idea here and the graphics definitely have a nice consistent style to them. The audio is pretty simple but fitting and the gameplay itself is pretty fun. Overall, not bad, just a tad confusing, imo. :stuck_out_tongue:

It's an interesting and original game, once you figured out how it works. If you improve the tutorial and fix bugs, you'll get a nice commercial game with unique mechanics. Nicely done!

Really like this concept! It looks and sounds nice too, music just gets a bit repetitive 😅 Unfortunately experienced some of the same issues that others have described too, sometimes I went straight from rolling dice to ending my turn with no opportunity to actually use what I got, and sometimes I couldn't break a block even tho it was possible from the exact same spot on the next turn. Didn't get very far but I did enjoy it when it worked so would love to try a post-jam version where this has been sorted out. The presentation is really polished and the whole idea is great! 😁

Cool concept and nice take on the theme. It takes a few minute to figure out the game play mechanics but it's fun when you figure it out. Nice work.

Cool game. Love the dice mechanic (and pun)! The bug I ran into was reaching the bottom of the dungeon, and having it lock up (entire browser tab died - I had to close the whole browser session to end the game music).

Other than the bug at the end, I had fun! Maybe because I've played plenty of tabletop dice games, I found the rules pretty intuitive. Good game!

It took me a while to understand the phases but actually when it clicked I really started to enjoy it. In fact it really opens up how much complexity (in a good way!) there is in the game. There's also incredible amounts of polish that's gone into this, great job!

Interesting concept for a game. Nice graphics style. The spike ball is annoying, I would suggest having that only appear at later levels once the player gets used to the game.

A missing gem! Cool simplified turn based game!
The only thing I recommend is been clearer on where can I move and mine, although is highlighted sometimes I have a tile in front of me but I cannot mine it or move to it.
