The Camera Is Watching by Pink Spaceman

made by Pink Spaceman for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

ludumdare48

This is my game for Ludum Dare, i hope you like it.

In this game you are an artificial intelligence that has to help robbers rob the bank.

Control the doors and cameras of the place to distract and block the passage of the policeman while watching the botched robbers proceed with the operation.

Try to beat the stages that go deeper into the bank's underground and then back to the surface.

Adapt to this style of game that mixes the famous tower defense with some tycoon ideas.

I LOVE THAT THE ROBBERS ARE LITTLE ANIMALS.

I wish that I could toggle the doors/cameras on and off. On the second screen I closed a door and all my little burglars lined up outside it and couldn't go forward.

The darkness on the second screen obscured the menu buttons. Those should probably always be visible.

simple and straight forward. It was a little unclear what the collision point was when one of the robbers (I think) disappeared when the policeman came near. Other than that I really liked the idea of being an ai.

The robbers are cute. The idea is unique and thought provoking.

If you want to make the cameras/doors one-use for an extra challenge at least have a way to restart the level

Thanks for submitting to the jam!

Like some other reviewers, I enjoyed the art style of the cop and the robbers.

Kind of reminded me of packman especially with some of the level design.

It was unclear to me the right thing to do on the second screen. My robbers made it into the vault but didnt pick up any of the money at the end.

I did manage to get out and they seemed to have money but it wasnt clear exactly what was happening.

I also clicked on the cameras but it wasnt clear to me what effect they were having.

Nice job!

It was fun to try and understand the right sequence in the second screen. Lacks some feedback features, like a sound when you get caught, moneybags disappearing, or maybe a line indicating the robbers' path? The life panel is an interesting addition, not very useful in this version of the game but it could be a thing if the robbers could get separated between rooms or something.
Overall cool little game :)

It has a lot of potential, but because of the speed of robbers and cop, and impossibility of restart level, this becomes boring very fast, but i liked art and idea of it.

This was cute and fun. The second map took me several tries, and in the end I was only able to keep piggy alive on that level, but I did it!

The effects of each camera could be made clearer, and being able to turn thing on and off or open and closed would be great.

Hey, this game has a good idea! I like the animal robbers art.

It took me a bit to understand what could I interact with and how did it affect the policeman, but once I did I got the robbers in and out ^^

Robbers are cute, the idea is pretty good. Being able to open a closed door or lock/unlock would be so nice. It's quite difficult. But that's a good Job GG !

Cool idea! I wish there were more levels! Like everyone else, love the animal robbers art. Some audio would be nice, but its tough to find time for that in a jam (I certainly didn't get all the audio I wanted in my own entry!) Great work!

Cool concept! Solid art style. It was very challenging. I wish the path the robbers would take was visible so I could more strategically open the doors. Good entry, and good luck with further projects!

Looks very fun. I like the concept of having indirect control.
Sadly I couldn't figure out how to beat the second level.

This is a cool idea, but I'm not sure if it is just me, or I keep on soft locking the game? Like there's a session where I had the guard not move at all once the first door closed, and since you can't reopen doors or camera, I had to restart the game manually.

Other than that, I like where you are going with this! Nice job!

Nice job with this game, I thought it was interesting for sure, a cool way to tackle a heist game. I wasnt exactly sure what I was doing when I was clicking on some of the elements, but I was able to get through it and get out alive. There were some segments, like on the way out at the end where I dont think there was anything I could do to stop the guard from getting one of my guys. Regardless, I think some background music would go a long way to help the heist vibe, but overall I enjoyed this. Nice job!
