Layered World by hiki911

A big trouble have happened in Onion Kingdom. Like once was said in a prophecy a huge wall of fire magically appeared from nowhere and started its movement to the center of capital. You and your small crew were guarding outer borders of the capital. You delivered message about fire wall and receive command to reach city center using old flying construct.
What's going on in gameplay: - this game is about correct resource management (food, fuel). choose wisely your path across city layer - you could click on walls, villages and forests and then move to them and interact to receive resources - to move to next level you need to reach right wall at first - you could interact with active locations only once - layer generation is real random, so there intentionally could be some layers with too much active locations or even empty layer

The game was really interesting ! You probably should have add some music, and some sound effect, that will have add more life to the game.
I really like the graphics, it's simple, but it works.
For the game itself, you should have probably embrace the random by making the food/fuel given by the village random. (And not just add some plunderer). Because, in the best case scenario you have there, is you have a line of village from one side to the other, and you lose only 20 food to go to the next layer. So, not being able to make sure that you have 0 loss, or that you have more food than when arriving isn't rewarding enough, in my opinion.
Either way, I love the game concept, and you probably should try to improve the game outside of the gamejam. <3
regarding random rewards in villages and forests I think it would be much harder to balance properly, so I decided to do not use this approach during event
All in all, nice game, well done!
Other improvements:
* Tiles need to be highlighted as you hover over them, otherwise it is hard to understand that you can click them
* Confirmation should be to click the same tile/location twice. The button creates too much cumbersome mouse movement.
* There is no sound :(
* No sense of progression - will it ever end?
* Fire and Smoke are very expensive, it does not run very well on my PC (R380X, 1440p) but fortunately performance is not needed to play.
* Try to reduce package size as there are not many assets and 140 Megs are quite a bit for that. Did you bundle the editor-assets?
Overall, a cool little idea, looking really forward to what you can do in the next jam.
