Welcome to the world of Deep Fried Pancakes! :pancakes:

In this game you become a pancake and you're goal is it to become deep fried. Jump into the depths and on the way you need to get floured, egged and breaded. But be careful, there are some critters on the way to ruin your perfect deliciousness as a pancake. OH NO! :scream:

If you manage to land in the fryer at the end of the level you can put your score on the leader board, the first :100: places will be displayed within the game.

How controls work: :video_game:

  • :arrow_up: [W] [Space]: Jump
  • :arrow_left: [A]: Rotate left
  • :arrow_right: [D]: Rotate right
  • Align the pancake to the airflow to control the direction airflow.PNG

Known Issues:

Because we had to switch the resolution, it may be that some browsers will cut the top of the game, but you can still play it.

Very charming game, love the art style. Controls was a bit confusing for me, didn't really understand the airflow mechanic but maybe that's just me.

Super fun game ahah missing the frying thingie at the end is so frustrating !! Makes you want to try again and again, well done. Just needs a restart button because otherwise you just sit there watching your pancake drop down slowly if you botch a run.

Super good quality for the time you had ! Good job :)

@fdk Thanks for the feedback :smile: A restart button what have been nice to integrate and when I was in my game jam development bubble I never thought about that... :laughing: It's such a simple extension that would have made the gameplay experience a lot better. But I also hope you got a spot on the leader board :trophy:

Finally, after a few tries I got a clean run. But I am pretty sure 139k is possible.

The game was fun, I've played it probably too many times :D I like the falling pancake idea and the intro with jumping and zooming out is really nice.

Incredibly well polished game, clean work!

I made a fantastic mosquito pancake.

The leaderboard is a great addition for any ludum dare game. I'm happy with my top 5 for now ^^

Awesome game! The game was so satisfying, the leaderboard point is real good, quite hard to understand at first but after a couple of tries you get the control of the pancake, very good job!

I love this idea! Super innovative. The controls are difficult, but I liked that they were different. I also loved how the bad things you pick up stick to the pancake, it was really funny. It would be cool if we saw the pancake land in the deep fryer at the end.

Edit: Just a small typo in bottom of the Unity build next to the full-screen button, the game is referred to as "Deep Freid Pancake"

this was a cute and fun play! it also made me very hungry for pancakes so i might order some tomorrow morning... anyway, the controls took me a minute to get used to but afterwards it was a really enjoyable play! this game would be super cool as a mobile game and i'd definitely play it more if it was released there! overall, nice work :smile: :pancakes:

This is the craziest game I've played for LD48 so far, and I mean that in a good way. I tried over and over again, but couldn't quite make it without hitting an obstacle or two. Once I decided to turn completely vertical and try to race to the bottom, it got addicting.

Really good work! Now I want some pancakes...

I didn't quite get _how_ the controls work, but I was able to steer the pancake at least decently! The music fit the general vibe well, and I liked how it turned Katamari with you picking up things you bumbed into.

Fun game with an interesting control scheme and a great identity! Would have been great to see some randomisation of the level but great foundation for a cool and simple mobile game. Good job!
