Once I saw the theme. This is the idea that instantly popped into my head that wouldn't need a full project of time. I thought flappy bird (for a simple gameplay type), but vertical, and deeper and deeper made me think of ocean, Don't expect good art, I suck at it, but I think it's fun. NO RESTART BUTTON
Uses generic, unchanged Unity controls, so WASD, or arrow keys to move. You cannot move upward. You can slow your decent, but you will never get back to where you were. Survival is hard, and success is never guaranteed. There's a menu in-game that shows where the colliders are for the enemies. Didn't want them to be too small or too big, gave them a head, to about halfway through their body, except the angler. My first game jam game, I hope you enjoy. Planning on adding more to it eventually and releasing it on Google Play. USed abundant music on github for a randomly generated music track, and bfxr for the little sfx: https://pernyblom.github.io/abundant-music/index.html amazing tool to use. Started the jam a little late, and ending it early since I need to learn graphics, but wanted to use my own in this. If you want to check out other games I made over a longer period, I have some on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=5114384313347578525
Very good game even though it was your first jam.
The new thing that I say and really liked was how you allowed the player to see the colliders beforehand. Thats the thing I would adopt too.
There are quite a few things I will say could be improved.
>There is no restart button, when player dies, we just have to refresh the page.
>There is no such thing in the world apart from the fishes that could tell us about how fast are we going down. A UI thing that could describe our depth would be good. Not a necessary thing but it will help to get an idea where the player is heading in water in case there are no fish nearby.
Good Game and can be extended in future.
