Flood Fill Miner by Baturinsky
Yeah, yet another mining game, like the dozens you have probably checked out on this LD already. Though, with some additions and some subtractions.
Addition 1: Color fill mechanics. You don't dig tile by tile, you grab entire connected same-color area.
Addition 2: Some incremental game mechanics in form of lots of buyable upgrades.
Minus graphics. It's all just squares, colors and some letters. But I still tried to combine squares, colors and letters in a neat way, so Graphics category stays.
You can use cheatcode "gibmoney" to get a lot of money, if you want to skip the grind and look how game looks with many upgrades.
Code is written from scratch during Compo in Typescript on top of the raw browser API. Compiled with esbuild. Color palette is mostly based on PIKO8 one. Font is called "Press Start".

I see that you managed to do a match-N :trophy:
PS: Graphics are completely blurry using Firefox but after switching over to chrome it worked fine.
- interesting concept
- I played it a few rounds so there's definitely something here to work with
- I really like the upgrade system
Improvements:
- some sfx to give more feedback to the user; and grade it's intensity based on how big of a move they made
- screen-shake for the really big clicks
- scoreboard to measure your most recent run with historic runs
Bugs:
- This is how it looks in firefox:

Idea is that you ARE supposed to lose, but upgrades, and try again, getting further (or, at least ,getting some more cash) each time. Maybe I should have start with bigger field, it takes some time for the game to gain steam.
Maybe with some polish it indeed can become a nice mobile timewaster. I'll think about it.
