Overview For decades, ecological activists have advised we should maybe stop drilling deeper and deeper into the ocean floor in search of oil. We probably should've listened.
Gameplay Play as an avenging squid, the great almighty Kraken, who has awakened from his slumber to purge the ocean of the pitiful humans. Use your eight mighty tentacles to swipe and smash their defences (submarines, mine-dropping boats, slightly suicidal divers) and crush their industry (oil rigs, drills) to return the ocean to the peaceful state it should rightfully be in.
Theme The game itself exists in a conceptual level because of humans drilling deeper and deeper into the ocean floor. It's nebulous, but it's there!
Links Everything is hosted on one itch.io page. The source, downloadable versions for Windows/Mac (please note: I haven't/can't test the Mac port) and a HTML5 export playable in-browser. Please do be aware that the HTML5 version may run badly for some people, and I'd kindly request you try and download the relevant desktop version, rather than judge my game poorly because you don't have enough RAM. Thank you.

Twin stick controls would increase the playability. The tentacles reach should be longer?
Great humour and setting. Was surprised by the sound effects, but they boost the humoristic side which works really well. I'm always impressed when someone manages to add a cutscene in a 48h game jam, and that gives the game so much charm and identity. Looking forward to the devlog, great job!
BTW: You should put the ludum dare link on your itch io, that way people can come here to vote you
In all seriousness, it feels like a fun little twin stick shooter variant. The kraken feels very heavy, as expected from such a chonky boi, but still gains momentum that allows it to move around quite nicely. One feature I would like to see is the kraken breaching water and up into the air, full great white shark-style. That could also allow for airborne enemies like choppers. Awesome work!
Including child divers was a bold move.
