Dwarven Descent by Chumzy
You play as a dwarf and your goal is to make it to the bottom of the cave while getting as high a score as you can. You can pick things up and throw them around to help you fend off enemies and get farther down. There are 8 treasures for you to try and find before making it down to increase your score. Killing Enemies, Collecting Coins, and getting to the bottom faster also all increase your score.

I think, concept of throwing your weapon for attack is cool. And it can evolve. Collecting gold is not necessary, but sometimes it makes you think how pick up it and it's good goal. Coins fly off nicely.
I didn't make it to the end at my first tries, but I tried again, concentrating on advancing and not killing every enemy I encountered, and it was much easier, and I eventually got to the end.
I really appreciated the different tiles as you go deeper, and the different enemies too.
The animations of the character, the enemies and the effects when you collect a treasure are very cool and beautiful.
Just like @zimny11 , the word dwarf got my attention immediately! And the game corresponds well to the idea of a dwarf story.
I think this is a strong entry, especially for a compo game!
Good work!
I liked the level design, lots of nice details (including that treasure hidden at plain sight on the first screen).
I found it easy to get to the end, but hard to get the treasures along the way (which is an interesting take on difficulty).
My biggest complaint would be the controls, for two reasons:
1) I have only two hands :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Seriously: I need one hand to control the direction, another hand to jump, and yet another one to use the mouse. Maybe jumping with the right mouse button could work better?
2) I found it really difficult to get those wall jumps right. It was a matter of luck for me, actually. (Maybe you could have added some walljumping instructions to the otherwise excellent tutorial?)
Overall a very polished game for the compo! Kudos!
The enemies are a tad hard to kill.
But the graphics are awesome!

- The in-game tutorial
- The treasure pick-up animation and SFX
I ended up in the following situation, where all I could do was wait to die:

But that didn't detract from the game's enjoyment.
It's a very solid COMPO entry, congratulations!
