DeeperSpace by RaggidyJam

[raw]
made by RaggidyJam for Ludum Dare 48 (JAM)

The goal of DeeperSpace is to gain score by getting as far as you can and killing targets along the way

Controls: WASD plus Q and E for yaw or arrow keys plus Z and C for yaw, hold space to shoot when you die press R to respawn and press escape at anytime to quit the game

There are two different types of obstacles that damage you Asteroids and walls when the walls appear the gap between them will narrow the goal is to make it into the gap. Which one of the two you get is chosen at random and will at a random time switch with other. All obstacles including a bonus yellow one (that is always spawning but does no damage and can only be evaded) make you momentarily lose control if hit.

This was so cool, the mechanics and controls are so satisfying, just wish it had some textures for the planets/meteorites and some sounds. Very immersive aswell. gg!

I liked your inventive take on the theme. The polygon style made me think of the Sega Saturn days of virtua racer, etc! The flight mechanic took some getting used to, but I really liked how it looked. Good call adding the travel lines that arc toward you as you fly. These helped me get re-oriented when I flew off track. Great work!

Good game to be your first LudumDare! keep it up.
I didn't understand what I had to do with the circle thing in front of the plane tho, I tried to shoot it but nothing seemed to change.
I also encontered a green and violet wall, was it a bug?

@axeltherabbit the green and violet walls narrow together leaving a gap to try and maneuver through sometimes when a wall is behind another the graphics bug out drawing the one behind in front. If the circle your talking about is yellow then its just to make you lose control for a moment otherwise its a target that if hit enough will die.
