This game is ludicrously beautiful, the visual style and music go together perfectly. The movement is very fluid and after a few attempts felt easy to control. I managed to get quite far through the second stage (how many are there?), but then I was unfortunately killed as multiple objects lined up almost perfectly to block my path. I would be nice to restrict the restart game button to a single key, as I accidentally restarted the game instantly when I wanted to see my high score.

This is by far the best LD game I've played. Great concept, beautiful visuals and sound, all around brilliant. If I had to give some criticism (and I'm really digging here), I think the controls are a little awkward. I'm not sure if I want the cat to be diving vertically or staying sideways like a parachute.

The game looks very very good and the movement of the cat is a very cool idea!
The animations for the cat is great! I like how when you bump into a wall it sets you into a roll.
I have a feeling this cat may be having a nightmare not a dream... With all the bees and falling down a pit this does not sound very pleasant for the cat.
I think the movement is a bit too sensitive and maybe the camera should be a bit lower.

The art and the animation are outstanding. The controls are a bit jerky, though. The cat constantly trying to roll uncontrollably. I think for this type of game (relaxing I think) controls should be easier to master. But overall it's a cute and moody game. I enjoyed playing it. Nice music too!

Amazing drawing and animation c: The cat evokes sympathy and warm feelings, love it! I like attention to the details: when the cat falls like a parachute, spins in a ball or dives. Very cool!

Took me a little while to figure out how gentle you need to be with the controls - but after that, it became fairly easy. The scrambled "defeat" music at the end is... eh, and I noticed a few hitboxes felt like they could be tightened, but other then that, it was fun!

The look of this game is really spot on. The dreamy graphics and the animations work really well. I would have loved to see a bit more creativity in the gameplay. Well done.

A little complaint about the score screen: if you're playing and dodging stuff and hammering an arrow key, you might accidentally skip the score screen, if an object hits you while you're still pressing the key. This is especially frustrating, if you have a high score and then don't know how much it was.

A better way would be to use space or enter as continue key.

@jonah I painted and animated the cat entirely in Photoshop, it was a long and tedious process though!

This is great, the art and music is beautiful, the atmosphere is calming and the gameplay loop is addictive and fun.

The colours and the animations were done beautifully! I love cats and that little cat is really cute! The visuals are so good!
But, I couldn't keep him alive for long, he kept rolling and I couldn't move him. I love the game I'm totally going to keep trying!

I really loved the feeling of the movements, it felt very natural and quite unique ! A lot of other entries chose a similar concept, but the controls in this one makes it a lot more interesting and fun to play !
The art is also just amazing, really loved all the colors !
The death sound makes me cry everytime tho

damn this is a great game.... it took a while to understand the controls, because when you said arrow left and right I thought it was straightforward, not that one controls the rotation, it is still nice. The visuals are the best part I think, together with the music, I loved it!

This game is beautiful. I shared this with folks outside of the jam! I enjoyed this so much. It's also really hard to not just nose dive the cat and do the minor tweaks but ultimately it was a blast!

I love the twist on the controls, it adds a lot of depth to a simple yet very effective concept! The cat is beautifully animated and the colors and textures are delightful, everything feel fluffy and dreamy. It's also well balanced to be challenging and fun at the same time! The painted art style is just great. Very cute and well done. Music is also great, very relaxing and dreamy, fits the concept perfectly.

I enjoyed the physics of cat flight. The floating, the diving down - all felt very good. The only bit of strangeness is that you can completely get stuck in a roll, and no amount of wiggling will make you stop rolling. Hitting something will make you stop :laughing:

16881 was my highest score, I really liked what you all did here. By raising the skill ceiling on the falling mechanic, you separated yourselves from all the other falling deeper games this LD. The mechanics felt a bit like Mario's cape in SMW, where you sorta pulled back and forward and the cape could go into a dive state. When you get really good with the dive, it feels reaaaal good to go fast and dodge obstacles. After a while you just pray you don't smack into something big like the doghouse :)

Excellent execution, both on an artistic front and technical front!

Ouch, the game over is as brutal as the game is lovely. The base concept is quite classic but the way the cat controls elevates it to someting far more original! (And it goes without saying that the art and music are both excellent).

The character animation is just lovely :scream_cat: The whole visual style is so pleasing and soothing. Spent the first few minutes just looking at the cat in different rotations. Character controls felt spot on as well. One question: Is there a third background at some point? I was pleasantly surprised by the change after a few tries. Definitely my favourite LD game so far!

Takes a bit to get used to the controls, but when it clicks, you do start like a cat flying through the dream skies. Probably the most interesting game gameplay-wise I've seen so far in this jam. Oh and yes the art totally matches the dreamy theme, beautifully done.

Simple and fun game

I so much enjoy this one, simple but addictive. The controls take a while to get used to and at some point it feels like you have no more control over what you do.. I don't know if this is what is really happening or if it's just my impression :)

Great game, super pretty! Took some time getting used to the controls but after that it was really enjoyable. If I had to be nitpicky, a couple of things that I would've liked was maybe a score showing when playing (to know how far you've gotten) and a high score shown at some point! Also didn't realize there was another "level" than the overworld at first. I tried getting past 20000 to see if it would change into something else but didn't quite manage. My highest score was a bit over 19000.

Really fun to play and the graphics were super pretty!

Definitely one of the prettiest games of the jam! All the little props were so cute, and the music fits everything really well. My only critic is that the controls do feel very awkward at first, but after a bit of time they weren't too much of a problem anymore. Very solid entry. Keep catting!

Wow, surprising how a simple mechanic with two buttons can have so much depth! You can either play it safe, or go fast and become a master at dodging. Music and visuals are great, too. A very nice entry overall!

Very interesting player controller, the cute cat does not choose the direction you move in but the rotation, that can affect movement in various ways. The art is absolutely gorgeous, I want to hug that cute little cat! I hate the sound when it dies :( its so brutal :( . Really cute idea with an innovative controller good job! <3
