deep madness

deep madness sends you into the eternal abyss. But is there perhaps an end? Try your luck and reach the secret end. 🤣
I have developed deep madness alone. Unfortunately I started with the project a bit later. Therefore, one or the other problems may still arise that I would still have to optimize. But the time was too short. It is at least playable.

Key Bindings: Space or Left-Click to drop down. 😏

I wish you a lot of fun while playing. Share your highscore to compete with other players or via Twitter with #deepmadness 😬
whisper It was an awesome jam though. 😇

@cral you also thank you for your review. :) I'm currently working on some optimizations and bugs. also working on the spikes.
@escortti thank you for your review. The errors with the hang are known to me. I'm working on a solution. I suspect that it is because the collider of the wall and the player go into each other and so the trigger changes at lightning speed which leads to the fact that he does not come from the wall. D I'm still tinkering with how I change it. The music I also really need to revise. After the death of the player is not always checked whether the music is still running. An idea would be to stop the music completely when dead and start again at startup ;)
An update I will upload as soon as I have made all the errors and optimizations. ;) Just have to manage it all with my work/life balance.
If my english is not so understandable please excuse me. My english is not the best. :D
Good little concept, I got to floor 33 before dying, and I bugged the game every attempt after that.
I just let the guy bounce back and forth a bit to listen to the soundtrack and I really liked how it built on itself and got more and more intense. At some point it felt like there was a bit too many different instruments though!
Overall I really liked the game, I feel like without the collision bug it would be one of those "just one more try" type of games!
Also the spikes could be placed procedurally.
I really like each section of your music track, but I think it did get too busy when they all got added on top of each other. Maybe keep the main theme always lying underneath but then swap out which instrument you add on top, rather than adding all of them?
i have to play more to be better but nice game !
See dev log on itch.io
Very important note:
Play in fullscreen. Browser Game View now completely hides the spikes at the edge. No idea how to fix this. Tried several things. :(
But the days I still make a downloadable version ready. ;)
Could work well as a polished up casual game for the web and/or mobile, perhaps with a maximum speed and some collectables like extra lives!
Very solid submission, great job!
