Goblin's Plight by icedmetal57

[raw]
made by icedmetal57 for LD33 (COMPO)
A top down 2D game where you play as a goblin who's homeland is invaded by nasty humans. Be wary though, killing a human will only cause more to attack and will hurt your score. Your best bet is to make them think your weak and run away when hurting. Make them think they've won.

-----------------
Controls
-----------------
WASD - Move
Space Bar/Left Click - Attack

-----------------
Score System
-----------------
Hit a Human: +10
Kill a Human: -100
Take a Hit: +10
Die to Human: -20

Note: Didn't have enough time for audio. Started the project in C++ in a personal engine on Friday night, but changed to Unity on Saturday.

Hopefully nothing's broken. If so, sorry about that, I'll try to fix any issue in a timely manner.

not bad...I didn't find any bugs, but it feels pretty clunky...just needs some polishing and it could be pretty fun

Solid for the time, esp. considering the late switch to Unity. Still, a hit feedback would have been nice, at first I thought I was doing it wrong. Unfortunately it's nothing really innovative, if you switch sprites for player/enemies it's as classic as it could get. Maybe switching weapons or a power-up or two would have been nice?

Nice job! It would be cool if it was possible attack the castle or a level inside them.

Nice idea. I'd loveto see the "you have to run away" mechanic taken further.

My attacks didn't seem to do anything or at least the enemies weren't reacting to being hit.

I like the idea of not being able to mindlessly kill, but have to compromise. Adds some strategy to the game! I read that you didn't have the time, but audio would have been very nice :)

Interesting, there needs to be a way to get rid of knights without killing them (if there's such a penalty for killing them). Also, I think archers would add an interesting piece to this game. Nice work!

Could use more feedback on the hits and so on, but given the time and change of tech, it's entirely understandable!
