Venture deeper and deeper as the brave miner Mason to find unimaginable treasures! But be careful, because mines are dangerous places to seek fortune!

IconDarkersmol.png

Use your logical thinking to find the path!

Screens.png

Avoid getting into bombs! They aren't really friendly

Screen2.png

And if you manage to succeed - all the treasures will be YOURS!

Screen3.png

CONTROLS: WASD OR ARROWS

GOAL: Reach the bottom of the level

Rules: Each move to an uncovered tile costs 1 pickaxe. You need to collect pickaxes and avoid bombs to complete the level.

There are two digits above each tile:

1) the green one (top left) is the distance to the closest pickaxe

2) to red one (top right) is the distance to the closest bomb

TIP: Bombs do not spawn next to eachother. Minimum radius between them is 1 tile!

ALSO TIP: The distance is measured by straight lines. Diagonals take more distance to the bomb! Use that :D

You can always check the tutorial section in the menu :)

Hey guys! We've finished our second LD game - Deep Sweep.
Here you play as the miner Mason and your task is to mine your way to the treasure!

It's a combination of puzzle and platformer game inspired by minesweeper. You'll find tutorials in the description.
Hope you'll enjoy it! :D

I love that this game is isnspired by one we all used to kill time in 4th grade. The graphics are cool and the gameplay is intuitive. I think I might have found a bug on the first level. When I went to restart the game, it sent me to the tutorial every time. In the long run it's not a big deal at all, just something I noticed. Solid work overall! If you feel like it, please check my game eragator out. It's Guaranteed to make you gag.

@alec Thanks for the review! Yeah, that tutorial thing is more like a feature in case you forget some rules in the first level :D

Cool puzzle type of game with minesweeper elements. Took me a few tries to get the hang of it. Very fun game!

Innovative, but too often there is no way to know where bomb is with all available ques and you have to rely on chance.

I like the sound effects and how you used a well know puzzle mechanic in an interesting new way.

Nice game !
The tutorial is well done, and helps get through the levels.
A bit sad that you have to get through the levels by die-and-retrying (but I might have missed a strategy here)

Nice game. Interesting puzzles. I enjoyed trying to figure out a method for determining which of the squares could be bombs.

Great concept and loved the adaptation from minesweeper. I liked the tutorial, skipping was nice. It was actually challenging but retrying the same level had me memorize some things so it eventually lost the challenge. Basing it off of numbers only ends up being pure chance.

Very fun, and the Minesweeper inspiration is clear!

Pros: Fun; easy to understand; nice art; good sound effects; fun twist on well-known game; fits the theme in a simple yet effective manner

Cons: Small level width means numbers sometimes aren't enough to avoid bombs; Music is good, but repetitive; browser version was HUGE on my screen, making me play it at about 70% zoom to be able to see it all

Nice work!

This is a nice new interpretation of minesweeper. I had fun playing it and also felt that you found some matching music and sound effects. Nice job.

It was really hard for me to get out of the minesweeper habits and understand what the numbers were indicating, but that's more of a me problem than an issue with the game. This is a solid effort and all-round good puzzle game.

A fun puzzle game, had fun trying to figure out the levels without resorting to trial and error. Well done!

Nice one. Was never really good a minesweeper and this was no different. Was slightly annoying that there were situations where the numbers were not enough to navigate past a bomb and you had to die just to see where it was. Great visuals too.

Nice creative minesweeper type game. Not to much of a fan of having static levels. Makes the game to easy to just hit bombs and restart to figure out where they are and creates zero replay ability.

Really nice game! Smart, interesting and I like the visuals!

Strangely, I like the fact that it is not random-generated, so if you loose multiple times you start learning the pattern and it becomes easier :)

Interesting how you moulded the LD theme and implemented elements of minesweeper. The game screen was quite big on my monitor. I've gone through a couple rounds of this, eventually managed to beat all 3 levels. Having the number for the mine's distance added a bit of suspense when I played through it. Wish there was a bit more levels, overall a fun game

Great puzzle game of course it remind us this good old minesweeper ^^
I think sometimes we just miss some clue to guess where is the bomb but fortunately the level are always the same so it's cool.
Good work.

Nice puzzle game! The last level was especially interesting as I needed to be mindful of both bombs and pickaxes. Controls feel a bit slow sometimes, but it's not too bad :)

Note that you need to opt-out of the Graphics and Audio categories, as you didn't do them yourselves.

I exploded with bombs tons of times but I really like the game because you have to think before you move , some of the moves you have to do it by chance but it was cool . Nice work

Cool twist on minesweeper! I only wish there was a larger, randomized level available to play this forever! Still, I got a good challenge from the levels you had.

Good job making a complete game with tutorials and all. I also appreciate the web build!

Great entry!
The graphics are unified and well done, has interesting mechanics, and the music goes very well with the aesthetics.
Could be interesting if you mimic more mechanics of the Minesweeper.

Nice work! Very charming graphics, snappy controls, and the sound and music were strong, too.

I couldn't help cheating myself out of some of the challenge by memorizing, partly because (unless I missed the right strategy!) there were impossible situations where I had to make a blind guess with all ways forward having a 1 distance to bomb, and no way that I saw to do the whole minesweeper "chains of logic" thing.

If I could tweak one thing, I would change it so that when I pick "continue" instead of tutorial, that you wouldn't show me the tutorial anyway.

But it was no big deal, I spent some fun time trying to figure out the rules, and playing around with it. Nice entry!

Nice game, remembers me Minesweeper. But I think you did this on purpose. I just couldnt understand very well the bomb distance. Good audio, graphics and sound effects, good job =)
