Loach Dive

Control your Pond Loach and dive deep into the depths of the ocean to defeat the Anglerfish. Catch tadpoles, clownfish, and eels, but don't touch the jellyfish.

The game is good by itself, but it becomes super fun when you realize that you can wiggle yourself into colliders and gain extra speed from physics depenetration. Like, unironically, it creates a whole new skill-based mechanic that's actually fun to interact with. I honestly love it.
Also, I just love the chill aesthetics a lot.

The physics definitely made this game fun. Is that a moo from the clownfish??

It's a great and fun game! The aesthetic of just being a loach going around and eating things is very cool, and the art and music and sfx are well done too. I just feel that the controls are wonky, which makes the last fight with the big fish very hard combined with the moving dangers.

This game is absolutely epic. My only complaint is that the boss hit box could have been better. He was dashing through jellyfish sometimes and also sniping me from very far away. I like the clownfish.

Ahh, weather loaches are awesome! This was really fun, I didn't figure out the controls immediately, I was trying to flop around using nothing but the boost at first, which wasn't really working as the AI tadpoles do such a good job of scurrying away. Once I got it was great fun zipping about though - nice graphics and sound, great job!

Lots of fun, I liked the "puzzle-y" way to defeat the boss. Thanks for letting me play!

This was tons of fun! I really like how much I felt like a fish playing this game. It was fun chasing them around. The sound effects were funny. I think the only change I may suggest would be to give a way to maybe disable the fish you are chasing.

I enjoyed it, as I said when it was being streamed while you were in the channel the other day even though it's really a very different game there's enough similarities that it hits my ekko 2 nostalgia hard, and for me that's a good thing as I played the hell out of that game.

This was great! The fish AI felt realistic , and the movement was super fun.

Try as I might, I couldn't figure out how to defeat the boss. At one point in time, it looked like it took a hit of damage when it swam through a jellyfish, but I couldn't replicate it afterwards.

Awesome job!

This is a really fun game - great work! I loved flipping around in the air during the first level and enjoyed chasing those slippery eels. Fantastic to see a weather loach as the central 'character' in a game!

This was really cool! There was a surprising amount of planning needed to catch the fish which was fun, and the fish AI felt pretty life-like.

15 tadpoles was perhaps a bit too much for the first "level" and got a bit tough once the herd thinned out, and it also got a bit old in later levels to have to start catching from 0 every time you died.

Cool fun game and nice take on the theme. Nice work on the graphics for the background and fish, I got to the lure fish boss but didn't manage to beat him, but enjoyed it all the same.

Very fun up until the boss where I kept respawning inside jellies and replaying the boss intro over and over and over... until I quit before defeating the boss that I was unable to get a single hit on (Likely just my inability to play games well). The physics based movement is enjoyable but possibly a little too hard to control for this type of game and the little fish looked so good that I didn't want to eat them.

This was really cool. I love how it forces you to adopt an actual hunting technique instead of just blindly chasing things. After a large number of attempts, I did beat the boss. The trick is that it is hurt by jellyfish, but only while dashing and it doesn't stop the dash. So you have to use your boost to keep the jellyfish ball between you and the boss and make sure not to get hit when it rushes you. It's not really intuitive that jellyfish only damage the boss while dashing, which certainly increased the length of time it took me to figure all that out. Beating this one felt good.

Very fun game, the loach was really fun to control and the clownfish was hilarious xD
The boss was really challenging at first and I almost gave up. I don't mind restarting a lot, but the long time to respawn made it feel a little more punishing than it needed to be. A button to restart immediately or just a faster respawn time would have helped make it less frustrating. That's honestly my only complaint though, this was a really fun one! I liked that the jellyfish were introduced as an obstacle to avoid, and then you immediately need to use them in the boss fight. Good work all around!
