Thank you so much! Great game. Only feedback I have is maybe some indestructible block so players can not go strait down.

Hi,
game looks great. I really like the idea. The moment when you see things come crashing down but you spot an opening is really powerful.

Good stuff!

Wow!! Really like the game concept, and the execution is great! My only critisism is that I don't know if it just me or dont;t get something, but it seems like digging straight down has to risk and will allow you to keep scoring for ever. Other then that, It looks great!

TY so much for the feedback! We made the game so that the only thing that really matters in the end is your grand total, so drilling straight down it would take a long time to beat even simple scores you can achieve by moving about. We did have unbreakable blocks in the begininning, but removed them because during playtesting we found that it was easy to get stuck. With no jump and no lose condition when you get stuck, we decided to remove them. If we had more time we would probably put them back in and create a lose condition for getting stuck or just give you a jump. From watching playtests, it seems that having a jump is the most requested feature.

Wish I could see my score between runs, to see if im getting better. A little hard to calc quickly. Unusure of the balance as I could get to the bottom fairly fast digging straight down.(Rainimg blocks at the start might help with this initially.) ADD SOME PICTURES YOU HAVE GREAT ART!

The score summary screen was a super last minute addition so we admittedly had very little time to work through the design of that. If we did an update that would definitely be something to discuss. Great suggestion with the art! I've added some screenshots :)

Great overall presentation. I think that having score as the only mechanic to incentive the player to move around the level (instead of digging straight down) is not enough. In Mr. Driller they had the air capsules as a secondary mechanic and it worked well, maybe something similar should be implemented. Great job otherwise.

My game has a very similar concept, but I took a different approach.

We agree 100% with this sentiment. Had we had more time, we definitely would have incentivised the player to trasverse the "levels" a bit more. Thanks do much for the feedback! We will definitely have to check out how you chose to approach it.

Wow, great game! The art is cool and the concept is very good! I don't understand why this game wasn't rated better.

Liked it! Congrats

Nice game! Really cool graphics and gameplay mechanic. Many times I accidentally killed myself, maybe because of the grid-based movement system? I think I kept starting a drill and trying to cancel it but ended up killing myself. Great job!

Really cute take on a Mr Driller style game!

Love the art and the music and general polish you've added to this. And really love the pun on edward scissor hands :D.

Like some people pointed out I think it might just be a bit too easy to drill mostly straight down and not suffer any major loss outside points. There's potentially a number of things you could implement to spice the game loop up, like @cassio-eduardo said that Mr Driller has air capsules to keep you mindful/focused on something else. I think you could perhaps introduce a health bar for the drill and have it so drilling through iron blocks/metal blocks reduced the condition of your drill and you can pick up repair kits to fix it? Or perhaps using it on any block reduces the condition but metal blocks even more? You could even perhaps make it so the player could only drill through hard blocks when their drill condition is above a certain threshold like 75% and up or such.

Just general concepts though that aren't exactly better but just different!

Overall great entry and will be humming that theme tune for most of the day :D.
