Haze & Lee are deep in debt due to ill-advised borrowing of a cryptocurrency with a deflationary monetary policy. Help them flee deeper and deeper into the wild and lawless areas of the galaxy where they might escape their creditors.

How to Play

Get to the end of the map without running out of gas or dying, and Haze & Lee can live happily debt-free for the rest of their days.

Click the "Jump" button in the top right of the screen to access the star map, where you can select your next destination.

In each system you will be presented with a scenario through dialogue, and sometimes combat.

When you encounter combat, click on the enemy to fire at them. You may acquire a second weapon during the game, which you can fire with a right click.

Bug Fixes

I have fixed the following bugs without adding any new content:

  • RMB weapon becoming "stuck"
  • Option to skip buying anything in weapon shop was not being displayed
  • Option to replace LMB weapon in weapon shop was not being shown
  • Weapon prices were not actually being applied!
  • Weapon shop was showing +1 gas than what the player actually had

Cool game! I love the story, and the BGM is super nice, sets the mood just right.

I don’t know if it was a bug, or I missed a game mechanic, but for some reason when I was fighting with cops my RMB weapon (shotgun) was not working :slight_frown: I pressed the RMB, but it would not go off (the reload animation was not starting, and there was no hit or miss indication).

Also, on one of my playthroughs, I fought teenagers almost the entire trip. But hey, I’ve managed to escape my creditors, so I’m not complaining

Thanks for playing @annie-owl! We fight teenagers, cops and thugs as the dice dictate!

I've had several reports of that bug with the RMB weapon - seems to work sometimes and other times not. I'll try to fix it now, I'm sure that would be alright under the bug-fix rules.

This is a really cool game! I really like the art and the idea is really fun. I died on my first combat encounter with a police ship. I don't have any major complaints. Nice job!

I like the interpretation of the theme as "deep space". The graphics are really, really cool too!

The art of this game is phenomenal. The game also has an intense atmosphere, thanks to the great UI, sounds and the music.

The graphics were awesome. All the space cars were especially fun. The gameplay was alright too but it felt like I was very much at the mercy of the random encounters. It felt that there was little I could do to steer the luck to be more favorable to me. With just a few more variables and more varied encounters those issues could probably be fixed. Solid game nonetheless and I'd gladly return to it if it's updated.

Cool games! it reminds me of ftl. The music and pixel art is great. I coulnd find more gas to go further than 7 jumps though. Good job!

very nice looking game and generally well made. I got about halfways before I ran into some unreasonably rough hooligans that shot me to pieces in no time. I was struggling from early on, but that felt in line with the story. I don't know if the encounters were fully randomized but I happened to get several of the same type in a row and I guess it would improve the feeling if the layout of the map strongly discouraged accedental repeats of scenarios. Good work though!

Nice art and I enjoyed how same events could play out differently. I got like 4/5ths the way but never quite close enough to beat the game unfortunately. Trying to fight a hot rod with only one weapon basically most likely dooms the run. I liked the game though, nice job!

Very cool!
The random is a bit punitive I found
but I had quite a bit of fun playin it
well-done dialogue tree, I'll say :)

The game is so cool on every level. The graphics are great, the music is awesome, the pacing is just right. I enjoyed every minute of playing it. The encounters could be more diverse, but it's a jam game after all. Very polished and fun game. Nicely done!

I loved the artstyle and lore! I also love FTL, so I enjoyed the similiarites to that (our jam game was also inspired in part by FTL). Maybe it was just my luck, but I felt like I was landing on too many empty nodes. I also wish there were more choices to make and different strategies you could use during combat so that it feels like you have more agency over your playthrough, rather than just praying to the RNG. I attempted it multiple times and was never able to beat it, but I still had fun playing!

By the way, I'm not sure if this was a glitch, or if you just didn't have time to make this, but when you fight the "The Collector," their ship seems to be invisible.

Really like the visuals on this one; the idea of making vintage cars into spaceships is a great aesthetic. I also appreciate the FTL homage in the game's structure, with the twist that you're running away from debt collectors instead of rebels. I will say that the gameplay feels almost entirely determined by randomness, to the point where it might as well play itself. There were a ton of situations where I just didn't get any fuel drops or missed too many shots and died. Overall, the game has a striking style and quirky narrative, but the gameplay balance could use some work.
