Hell's Dishes by mikouaji

[raw]
made by mikouaji for Ludum Dare 49 (COMPO)

In this game you are tasked to pick up all the plates and bring them back to the dishwasher :)

An easy task it would seem, but how really is it? Find out :)

* To pick up the plates you need to be close to the table and then wait! *

* Balance your way back to the dishwasher! *

* I hope you don't break too many dishes :P *

All versions are hosted on itch.io

The web version is slow on bigger maps, desktop versions work better there :)

I wasn't able to test if the osx version works, if anyone could check and give me info it would be really cool :)

I managed to collect one whole plate! I don't think I'm cut out to be a waiter.

I am very bad at collecting dishes and everyone at the restaurant has feel slashed to pieces by broken plates. I feel so guilty.

The sound of dropping all the plates you just picked because you did not check the controls for the "walk slowly" button is glorious! I encountered a single bug, the amount of plates left was 1 less than there were plates and when I took all plates to washer (or broke them) the amount of plates left was -1. I really like the idea, reminds me of other games that are about physics and awkward controls.

@octahedronsoftware glad you liked it :D I played it quite a few times and it never went below 0, there must be some collision bug in the dishwasher :D

It was hard but I got 10 plates! I probably got fired.

The vertical mouselook axis is rather sensitive compared to horizontal look and it's too easy to drop plates onto the floor. One time, the game picked up the plates I already had, among other physics oddities.

Though the music is surprisingly atmospheric, at least, to me. Good job, nonetheless

I am an excellent plate smasher. Nice game! I think the speed you turn is faster than the plates can handle so I ended up breaking a lot. A very neat concept!

Good work!

Oh my, I am not sure if I would do a good job in a restaurant.

You nailed the theme! But sometimes I didn’t have the feeling I would stand a chance to keep the dishes on my tablet while they were dropping. But congratulation to your game!

Fun little game, one of my plates landed on a chair without breaking so i couldn't pick it up or let it fall but other than that real nice! :)

Wow, I failed, but you definitely did not. I loved the concept, broke a lot of plates which I'm assuming was the intention, and had a ton of fun. Great job!

Very nice concept! Has some performance issues on larger map. Just needs some balancing to make it a little easier to carry plates, well done great job! :v:

I like the game Idea but the camera controls need more refinement. Nevertheless a fun game!
