Get Down From There! by Fionnabhair

You're a cat, loose in someone's home, and you're hell-bent on causing as much damage as possible. Use left and right arrow keys to move across shelves and crash into flower pots. The shelves can't support your weight, however, and they rotate upon contact!
Get Down From There! is a jumping game, which incidentally is the only type of game I know how to make. This is the first time I've ever made any kind of video game, and my first Ludum Dare. Made using Gamemaker, art and auio edited with GIMP and Audacity respectively.
My cat, a troublemaker named Avasarala, was my inspiration. She did not lend her voice to the cat sound effect in the game.
Bugs: Unless your browser permissions are set to allow audio immediately, you'll need to click on the game to hear the sound effects. Even then, the main audio track won't play the first time. Tried to fix it at the last minute, no luck, but I guess that's common for Ludum Dare.

No IRL cats were harmed in the making of this game.

My cat was just jumping in place and I'm not sure what the controls were
Took me a while to figure out that I need to use arrows, not WSAD.
Not a new idea, but very fun implementation.
I had trouble controlling it at first but I was able to spam left/right and get pretty far. Some jumps feel like I should land (visually it looks like I'll make it) and then I slide through. No issues outside of that.
Good job capturing the feel of being a cat and going where you don't belong. I'd love to see power-ups added, for example a power up that has you jump higher. Again, great job on the game!
Managed to get a score of 32! Those hitboxes, even though clearly glitched, were actually kind of fun to figure out! The song fit really well too, gave off that "EVERYTHING IS A MESS!" vibe!
