Slime-a-pult

Catapult yourself to victory in Slime-a-pult.

Mad scientists are conducting a dangerous and unstable experiment, but they are being a bit too reckless. And that is how you were born.

Escape the underground lab and destroy all in your path!

TIP: Go full screen by pressing F11 in-game

NOTE: I recommended playing the Window/ Mac/ Linux version of the game. As you will be constantly dragging your mouse around the screen and dragging out of the browser window will cancel your drag.

Very nice! Great little take on a platformer and appreciate how forgiving it is (dont lose much progress when you die, multiple routes through some areas).
Initial thought was dragging in the opposite direction but didnt take long to adapt.
I would have liked more stuff to destroy though!

Very nice

Super fun game! It definitely had more meat to it than some of the other games I've checked out in this jam. A bunch of levels to go through.

This slime holds the key to my heart, it's so cute!

Kinda reminds me of dandara in a way, really liked it. The movement especially felt really good!

@mickm I know right, MORE DESTROYABLES :D . Thanks for your feedback!

@bougiebirdie Thanks, glad you liked it c:

@slimmerburger Thank you for the tip and your comment! Never heard of Dandara before, but that game looks amazing!

Super cute art and satisfyingly forgiving mechanics, I love it! You did such a good job I had a great time playing

Fun! Nice job.

I sometimes got stuck to the "wrong" face of a block (or that's how it felt) - like I'd be aiming at the left side of a block, land on the left at the very top, but then my little slime dude would stand upright as though he was on top (which meant I couldn't launch downwards). Made it a little inconvenient to get around in a couple of places.

Even with that niggle it was still fun to play through, though. Loved the intro/outro sequences, and took a disproportionate amount of pleasure in destroying everything.

Fun game! Loved the art style, first room was fun, wish we had more chances to tear up rooms like that. Sticky mechanic felt solid, no big issues or glitches. Sound for the slime was on point. Wish there were more interactive baddies throughout but overall very solid entry for 48 hours. This would be a fantastic mobile game, you should consider adapting it into a larger release. Well done!

Played an entry before with a similar slingshot mechanic and I really enjoy it. Really fun and satisfying to control. Also thank you for not making missing a shot super punishing. Nice and polished too!

Really cool idea. Very tricky, but the thought put into the checkpointing system makes it tricky in a fun way, not a frustrating way. Ended up playing it for a long time, so the gameplay has just the right level of addictiveness :)

@connor-magson Thanks a lot!

@chameth I get what you mean. I clamped the players rotation to 4 directions so that the character doesn't rotate in between and ends up looking all weird. But it doesn't seem to work all too well in some cases.
Thanks for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed it!

@adrenallen Thanks for your ideas and feedback! I can totally see this working for mobile :D. Thanks for the encouraging words. Next time when implementing destructables I'll implement more than 3 rooms with destructable props. When it comes to destructables, more seems better :D

@silkworm-sweatshop Thanks for your feedback! If you remember which entry it was I'd love to play it :D

@thesedatedprince Glad you liked it, thanks!

This was fun! I have never played a platformer with this kind of movement mechanic, and I found it very refreshing. I really like details like the cutscenes with the shaking text and other charms. Very nice!

Why all these spikes in a laboratory?

The game is really cool! Too bad it lacks a music. Other than that the concept is really interesting and I like the fact that when we die we respawn at the previous location. A checkpoint or something like that would have been annoying x)

Great work!

Great game, some music would have been nice, but otherwise fantastic

Wow! Well that was incredibly addicting... Super fun mechanics, the pixel art was great, and the sound effects were nice too. The physics felt good and I loved the level design. Thank you for respawning right where you left off instead of making you start at the beginning of the checkpoint or something. I was super worried that would happen the first time I hit spikes. Really well done, I played the whole game and enjoyed every second of it :D

The pixel art is fantastic and the story is pretty funny too. Im really surprised with the amount of levels that are in the game too. Only downsides is no music and the sound effect is a little grating after some time. Also the jumping is a little finicky on corners. But overall pretty great!

Funny story, and the slime is cute.

An issue I encountered was while the corners of blocks are rounded their hitboxes seem not to be.
Hitting these invisible corners would prevent me from jumping.

Very cute slime sprite! The controls worked ok but this type of game I always find a bit hard/annoying to play. Maybe the game was a little too long and monotonous. Could have been a little shorter or easier/faster to traverse to keep players more engaged.

Very well put together and polished. Mechanic was a little taxing on the arms, but I had fun and got through it.
