Green War by Radovik

[raw]
made by Radovik for Ludum Dare 49 (JAM)

Hi we are a team of 3 people from Romania. This is our first Ludum Dare entry. Unfortunately we did not have time to finish all that we planned but here is what we managed to do in the alloted time. You can play the game at:

https://games.razvanrotari.me/GreenWar/

The goal is to cut trees and generate income to increase the happiness of your population by increasing the 4 services: water, food, services and recreation. You can move your lumberjacks by left clicking them and then left clicking again anywhere on the map. The "Green War" eco rebels will attack your lumberjacks and plant trees. Do not let them!

A nice and interesting game concept, took me a while before I understood the game. I would reccomend some audio just to help to create an interesting feeling. The game works pretty smoothly. good job overall!

Hey!

Very confusing game for me, I had trouble understanding how to move my lumberjacks, and which ones are the lumberjacks technically. My "factory" icon just suddenly disappeared at one point, then I had no control over moving anything. Some notifications, sounds and VFX would definitely help this game in the future. Good example of an unstable civilization in a way. Reminds me a bit of a watered down Frostpunk.

Thanks!

Thanks! Watered-down Frostpunk is what we were going for :)

Cool game! I agree about the audio, it would be really addictive and relaxing with some nice background music.

Interesting idea. I also experienced the disappearing factory scenario and then got stuck as a result. I also wasn't sure what the factory timer in the corner actually did. A quick 'how to play' blurb on your page here might go a long way to improving player understanding!
