Tickle Monster vs Suits by dos
Once again, Almost-Compo entry - made in 48h and according to all Compo rules, but after first 24h which I wasted on another, failed idea :)
You're the TICKLE MONSTER!
You tickle kids to ensure they are raised with proper amounts of fun!
Use ARROWS to move and SPACE to tickle!
(and ENTER to get into main menu in case you're stuck on title screen :))
Beware - if you give them wrong amount of fun, they turn into fun hating grown ups! Don't let them catch you!
So who's got tickles?

I've just got 43 points in 280 seconds \o/
Really liked the music and the artwork, as well as the way you used the theme. The "about" screen was quite original. Very consistent quality on all aspects.
One minor detail maybe is that at first I didn't realise you had to open the main menu by pressing the Enter key at the very beginning. Would have been nice if there was an indication on screen or in the description.
A very good entry. However I think that since you can stay on one line and never get caught you should either create some reasonable mechanic to prevent this or make it more obvious to the player that the ratio of points per second is important. Like displaying it somewhere on the screen. Maybe instaed of the total points.
That aside this game leaves nothing to be desired ;)
I just got the timer after reading the comments, I thought it was a countdown and you get X seconds per proper fun-ed child but it is actually a lifetime counter.
Other than that I had a good time playing it.
Kids who were tickled too much should have turned into clowns.
CLOWNS WHO HUNT YOU DOWN!
Ahem, the tickle monster.. they hunt down the tickle monster.
Loved how kids who didn't get the proper amount of tickles became boring adults that could get you later. That was definitely genius.
I think it would improve the experience a bit to have a way to identify kids that were "tickled" already. Perhaps they could walk in a more upbeat fashion, or display a smile icon over them, or whistle (with music notes above their head for instance) or be different in any way that would let me know that I already took care of them.
Other than that I loved this entry. Music was awesome, graphics are great. It's a really polished game too! Congratulations!
