Wow awesome entry! Really cool idea, excecuted very well with some neat level design. 😁
It feels like a cohesive package. I loved the art too, the particle effects were 👌
I also liked that when you die the hat goes flying and the camera follows.

Really well done on a great entry! 👏

This game is awesome. I like the movement, I like the effects, I like how coherent the whole game is, I like the gameplay. It’s just fun and I’m going to play it more now. One of the best entries for sure.

Only, why didn’t you add a webgl build as well? If you build with Godot and publish on itch.io, it’s just a few clicks, no problem at all, except you need to make sure you save as “index.html” and zip everything up after exporting. And that way I’m sure more people would be willing to try it out, too.

@tiar Thanks, glad to hear you like it! I will look into adding a web build, this was a complete oversight on my part!

Loved this game! I got to level 8 I think. Superb level design within the time limit. Thanks for providing a web build, too.

excellent! this idea with rocketjump-only controls is somewhat cliche but okay. unstability of gun kind of annoys me... also great to see a relatively long game

Really fun and juicy! I like the shoot to move mechanic. My only complaint is to introduce obstacles a little slower, like being able to pass the level with the laser field easily and know what it does rather than having a semi-difficult level with it right off the bat.

I loved it. Lots of fun to play. It took me a while but finally figured out when my gun was going unstable. Great aspect of the game.

Nice concept, movement is fun. Obstacles being introduced at a steady pace make the gameplay feel fresh. The only complaint i'd offer is that the unstable gun takes too much control away from the player movement. Good game though.

Really awesome game! The only thing i noticed was that a shot sometimes get registered 2 times, but this could perhaps be a problem with my mouse?

Had a lot of fun with this one, was confused with the gun firing nonstop thinking it was my mouse, just to remember the theme was Unstable haha, very nice job!

Enjoyed the antics of the behatted man and his gun. I wasn't super keen on the gimmick until the boxes were introduces that forced the gun to fire if you got too close to them. Then it all sort of gelled together a lot better then. Even before then the silly gun antics were entertaining.

Almost finished the game, and he kept me engaged all the time.
Objectively is well made, good level design, that are never boring, and also you made more levels than i expected, for this quality level.

I receive good feedback from playing, and above all i loved the sensation of jumping while shooting.

At a certain point i thought "hey, it would be interesting if there were enemies!", and they appeared!
You valorized your core mechanic, making other elements of the game focus on it. Good job!

Wasn't expecting to see a shoot to move game again, but this one is really well executed! Nice and juicy and as others have mentioned, the hat getting left behind was classic cartoon funny. Take my stars!

This was really fun to play I was confused at what to do at the start but it was enjoyable after that, I also thought the death part was hilarious watching a little hat just rolling around.

This is hands down one of the best games I've played this jam. The movement mechanic is satisfying and the graphics and music are charming. Congrats on an amazing entry :)

LOL this is awesome! lot of fun to play and good level design. Effects and player feedback are well done. I laughed out loud when the hat stuck around after I died. Music fit the theme and overall the game has a fun vibe. Great job!

Some of the levels were a little difficult, which pushed you to become a speedrunner, or THESE BIRDS will just punish you for all your sins. Very well made and polish game!

Yes this was an awesome short game, love the graphics, sounds, mechanic and the unstable gun. Enemies going through walls felt a bit unfair at times but I feel like they only hurt you when you stop moving which is also a cool mechanic.

Probably had a lot of luck but I think I finished it in ~3min xD

Very cool game, thanks for your entry ^^

Clicking gets monotonous at some point, but overall is very fun, though music feels too relaxed and some poopy sfx (or animation) could be fun on this rocket jump mechanics. Played for a while this bouncy cowboy, thanks!

Woohoo! What a ride!

I loved every aspect of it and found the game very polished!
The idea with the loose canon is great and the background music was supporting the overall feeling of a triggerhappy Texasranger ;)

Please make more levels!

Really nice graphical style, reminds me of Nuclear Throne, with all the pixel-perfect effects and explosions. The juice is soo nice, and the sound design is on-point. Felt so nice to play. The art isn't fantastic, but its good enough, and the effects cover everything up just enough. Overall, it is a really nice entry, scored highly in all categories!

Fantastic pixel art, and I really like the music as well. I don't think the sound effects for the bats quite click with the rest of the soundscape -- I get that they are robotic, but everything else is much more mechanical or organic sounding -- clanking metal or just a wooshing sound might fit in better. Or not. I'm really no expert.

Feels good to play almost the whole time except for the instability of the gun. I understand that's the point of the game, but you really just have to stop playing and let the gun do its thing when it gets unstable, unless your in the air already in which case you hope for the best. As it is, the instability is a penalty to the player with no good reason. A small fix you could make is adding a bar or some other indicator that shows the player that the gun is close to becoming unstable. Maybe when you stop shooting, it cools down and doesn't become unstable? On the other side of the spectrum, you could balance the instability with a reward: A more powerful gun. In fact, combining both ideas: When there are enemies nearby, the player can cause the gun to become unstable, then while it's going off point it at enemies to kill them with the more powerful unstable shot.

Just some ideas. Really great job, lots of polish and time have gone into this game.

Really cool, love the whole idea. I had fun but there is a frustrating bug where it keeps shooting even though I did not press anything. Maybe related to firefox and the web build. Or its some mechanic I missed

Cool looking game and very fun! I'm a sucker for explosion effects, and the gun in this game was pretty satisfying. I liked your usage of the unstable gun, where I had to play around the possibility that it might shoot a bunch accidentally, but it generally still felt pretty fair when this happened (whereas being unable to shoot would feel really bad).

The menu was polished, the music was good, the levels were interesting, and the length of the game felt about right (If there were more levels they would probably start to feel a bit repetitive). It surprised me at first that touching enemies doesn't instant kill me, but I think that was a good choice too since otherwise they would be hard to deal with. The fact that they can fly through walls is pretty annoying though, since my gun doesn't also go through walls.

I liked some of the small details, like the hat bouncing a bit when you fire the gun, and the hat being the only thing left behind when you die.

I played the WebGL version in fullscreen mode and it ran smoothly for me. One really minor thing - the "Quit" button doesn't really make sense in a browser.

Lovely game. I love the mechanic, the depth of using only one input but making it really hard to get good at it. Art-style, particles, details and humor(fried chicken) are top notch!
